Today I received my chevron card in the mail and included was a preapproved offer for their premium card. I called them up and asked them if it was a real preapproval or a invitation to apply. He said that it was indeed a preapproval. I asked him if applying would result into another inquiry on my credit report. He told me no and asked the the last 4 digits of my SS#. I once again asked him about the extra inquiry and he said no. He took the last 4 numbers and said Congratulations Mr. Eric2OO2 you have been approved for the chevron premium card and you'll receive it within 3 business days. I didnt expect that ! ! ! Im starting to love chevron!!!!

$600 limit on my normal card, same on the premium. Who would spend $600 in gas ? LOL .....

so no CL increase or anything?
isnt that card an extra $20 a year fee-wise?
I got the offer as well with my card, but ignored it, as there is no real benefit to having it as far as I can tell.

Well I've only had an account with them for not even a week so I didnt expect a credit line increase. LOL There is benefits but none that I will probably use. But now im wondering if this card will replace the other. If not its an extra tradeline which I need, if so than when we travel I'll have some benefits because the card does have them. The benefits will only really add up if you travel a lot though...... Im happy though :)

ok, as long as you are happy :)
I might just get it as well if it is actually a seperate card.

Actually I should have asked if it was a seperate card or not. Oh well I guess I'll find out when the new card arrives, it'll say wether or not to destroy the current one im sure......Im just glad that I actually got approved and not "nope sorry your credit history is too limited" like I usually hear.

Congrats Eric. I just got a preapproval for the Chevron card on Tuesday. Did you get a preapproval or apply on your own?

A high C/L on one of those cards can do wonders for you if your car breaks down near a Chevron station that also does auto repairs. In my underachieving days, I worked for a time in a Shell station that had an auto shop attached; lots of the customers used their Shell card to pay for their repairs, which were sometimes quite expensive, running into the thousands of dollars.

BTW, congrats on your card! The rat-b*stards at Chevron turned me down recently, I think because I have an ancient chargeoff with them. :/
