Think I messed up...TWICE!

The first mistake was sending a validation letter to an original creditor back before I understood that the requirements were different for original creditors. A nice lady sent me a letter asking for the acct. no. or my ssn, so I sent her my ssn. She just sent me back a printout. At this point, I figure I've messed up, but apparently she doesn't know that...so not to push my luck, I sent her back a letter stating that I appreciated her sending the printout, but that wasn't what I was looking for. I went on to quote the Wollman letter a little and then said that I knew this was a small balance and was going to fall off my report in under 11 months, but I would be willing to pay without any proof that I owed it just to get rid of it if they would agree in writing to delete it immediately. I then thanked her for all of her assistance.

    What would you have done?

Also, in my second round of errors, (I just realized I made them after reading Jim's deleted CH. 7 thread), I disputed entries on my husband's report as not being chargeoffs, but rather included in BK. I specifically said this on EQ and EX's dispute letter, but on TU I just said they were wrong and to please update them to their correct status or delete.

Is there any way to redeem the situation? Afterall, it seems I just verified for EX and EQ that the bk was correct. Its very possible there are errors in the reporting of it, but what now?

    Thanks!

I also sent a validation letter to an original creditor last fall. They sent me the same kind of letter.

I did not respond. I am not sure what to do either. I was thinking maybe I would just ignore it as not validated, and try to get it removed like a ca account, but not sure that will work.

Hope you get an answer. I am anxious to see advice about this situation.

Good Luck! Hope you get it all worked out.
