    I wonder if I have a shot, no INQs on TU and Eq but 15 or so on EXP, should I go for it?

    yup, no derogs, my parents have pretty high utilization on a card I am an AU on right now though, like 80% because they are buying all the stuff for the new house they moved into but will pay it off this month, should I wait, I still am at less than 1% on all of the rest of my cards.

    When I applied one of my cc was pretty much maxed, so that should not be a problem. My utilization at time of application was about 33%.

    because I will quote from my posts on CB (I copy and pasted all of it, but this should give you the jist of why Amex is sockdrawered :) Their CS is rapidly declining, not so much because the people are bad, but becuase NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT, and you get 5 different answers from 5 different people.

    I called today to close my cash back card and have the CL transferred to my new delta skymiles gold, took 4 CSRs 2 retentionn agents, and a 1 hour phone call. How hard is it, close cashback, add 3,000 CL to delta. One retention agent said that I DON"T HAVE A SKYMILES CARD, I read the account number and said well what is that. She was trying to then transfer my cahsback into a Hilton Honors, I said just cancel it and add the CL to delta, she said well why are you cancelling sir? I said FORGET IT!

    ALso, you may remeber a while back when I got screwed on ebay and dipsuted it (or so I thought) with amex. I spent 45 minutes with 2 csrs telling them my story and they said okayt we are filing it. Found out from the 3rd CSR from which I called to verify with that disputes cannot be filed until after billing statement closes. So I wasted 45 minutes with CSRS telling me they will take care of it when it was never even being filed. And then when I waited for the billing cycle to close, thinking amex wouls still take care of it, they said I sam sorry since it is through paypal we cannot handle this for, TOUGHLUCK!

    When calling AMEX CSRS I have to ALWAYS call back 3 or 4 times minimally to verify the answers I get with that many other CSRS because I never know if they are telling the truth!

    Also, when applying for my skymiles card the man I talked to had such and INDIAN accent I could not understand one thing he said.

    Also, I just found out they pulled 4 hards for tansferring my CLs around! That's not right is it?

    also find it ridiculous that they gave me false information about a 700$ fraud claim, and 2 times and over 3 weeks gave me a false sense of hope that I would get my 700$ back, this has always urked me, and I still have had no resolution from amex, and had to deal with the as*hole seller myself for the entire time, and settled for 575$ back since no one would help me and that was all he would return. Sorry, to vent to you guys, I am just bitter. I also would understand the hards if I was delinquent or ever late, BUT I HAVE NEVER BEEN LATE, OVER LIMIT, and I always pay in full EVERY MONTH!

    And when I asked to transfer my optima platinum CL to my cash rebate card, they put it through as a CL increase and pulled another hard, and I have a feeling that they pulled a hard today when I asked to transfer CLs again, because she asked for my soc and all my address and stuff

    today I called to double check what the CSR told me yesterday, that it will be done in a day or two. I just wanted to confirm that it was in process. I called once, got a CSR from India I could not underatnd, called back, got another CSR from India I could not understand, and the 3rd CSR I got from India I could undertand, bu8t she said it was not noted on my account but she could absolutely do a BALANCE TRANSFER for me, I said no I want to tranfer my CL from my closed card, she said yes a balance transfer, I said the card is closed and their is no balance to transfer! I am done, I am paying off my amexs, having my largest CL converted to some other FREE card throwing it in the sockdrawer as it will still help utilization. I am done. Now, I need a card that DOES NOT PULL EXPERIAN, because of AMEX I have not 10 but 15 INQs! Anyone have any ideas for new card for me?

    after 4 more calls to Amex today and much to my amazement (yes sarcasm ) I foud out they had not even put it through. I called retention got a decent person and asked why I always get people from India, they, and I quote, "well the call center is in India sir", well that explains it. My delta gold and my amex gold are in the sockdrawer until annual fee time comes and then amex delta is converted to a no fee card so I can keep the high CL, and my citibank preferred rewards is already converted to a AAdvantage world card. With one easy phone call might I add Now I just have to figure out something to with 12,000 delta points

    I don't mind the accent at all! I just want them to know what they are doing. As willgator once told me, they work for me not the other way around! I am not racist, I don't mind accents at all, they just don't understand when I ask questions of them, and I don't want to spend xx,xxx dollars a year with a company who won't take care of me in return. On another note, I had my citibank card converted today and checked online and my new account had already been created and my balance switched to the new account, and everything for online banking was set up and I didn't have to call but 1 time!

    HOWEVER, the CS on my amex gold charge has still been one of the best I have ever dealt with:) I think I will be keeping this one still.

    Not sure if this will work but a banker friend of mine told me that if a company has a call center in India and the U.S. always call in the morning Monday-Friday on a normal work week.

    His logic and I don't know if it is logical but some companies still have cs reps in the US. The cs reps in the US are much better trained and much more of an expensive labor force. The more experience cs reps have a tendency to work during the day and a regular week. For example his logic is that this week is a bad week as US cs reps with any senority will have Thanksgiving off as well as Friday and normally have the weekend off. So all calls go to India.

    Really don't know if this is true with Amex but the times that I have called has always been around 9:00 am during a normal work week and I have (I think) a U.S. cs rep.

    I can imagine Christmas week will be all cs reps from India.

    with my DL amex, no not happy at all! With every other amex, optima plat, starwood plat, cash rebate, blue and gold I am pretty pleased overall, and have decided to continue to use my gold card as I earn at least 1500-2000 MR pts a month:)
