    They think your score is too high so they're hoping they'll coax you into doing something stupid and get it to plummet.

    I think fico did this to prevent people from being able to manipulate their fico's over a short period of time.

    1*I think it is absolutely bizarre that closed accounts are calculated (in a decision as to whether or not a person has "too many cards").
    2*I just don't get the logic.
    3*My suspicion is that lenders want to keep all the positive accounts they can on record (pretending that closed accounts are open) to help their "stats."

    2* it's to give lenders and insurers an excuse to bilk us with overcharges and price padding
    3*My suspicion is bankers and insurers will do anything they can to artificially lower scores to give them and excuse to pad the price and fatten their bottom line.
