Re: Re: This board is being watched I have to speak on this topic. As long as we are within our legal rights to perform the steps necessary to correct false and misleading consumer reports, I say: BRING IT ON. I have no fear about a creditor or collection agency knowing our tactics and our strategies, as we know theirs. These laws were designed to PROTECT our RIGHTS, not to dismiss them. Our parents (and the older folks on this board) were attacked viciously before these regulations by creditors and collection agencies who had no mercy on the debtor, or the consumer. We were under siege for so long. The tide has turned now. The creditors and collections agencies would love to believe that they themselves are righteous and correct -- but they are not above reproach and they WILL suffer the consequences of sloppy record keeping and inaccurate reporting. Do we not suffer like consequences for our actions? An old truth: IRON sharpens IRON. I only hope that you get tough, grizzled veteran collectors and creditors who force you to fight your way to a victory. Without pain, you will not appreciate your gains. What is a victory without running the race. I liken the process to understanding how my fathers or grandfathers fought in wars - and how they realized the price of peace by the cost of lives. Thankfully, they were able to warn me and establish the fact that WAR is HELL, just as I will teach my kids (and any who will listen) that BAD CREDIT is HELL. It will be from my convictions, or the look in my eye, or the tone in my voice that they'll believe what I say to them and take the advice. At least that is my hope. You know that we are held to a high standard of rules, regulations and performing within a specified range of acceptable behavior. Are not the agencies and establishments who guard and enforce our debt to be held just as accountable for their actions? It's as if people on this board FEAR creditors and collectors. Fear leads to inaction, and lack of action leads you to summarily dismiss your rights. Action is a right, not a privilege, as some would have you believe. Finally, when any of them step past the line and commit violations of applicable law, I will be standing there with my legal Louisville whacking to and fro - BECAUSE IT'S MY RIGHT, durn it. (Whoohoo - I love coffee in the AM!)
Re: Re: This board is being watched I just can't believe the board is being watched for the simple reason that CRA's and CA's are still dumber than a bag of hair. If they are watching, they haven't learned anything. Going after these clowns in court is like shooting fish in a barrel.
Re: Re: This board is being watched My networking friend just showed me a program that "decodes" the Internet Service Provider based on the IP Address that appears along with the date and time on everyone's posts!!! for example "Marie" posted here from a Mindspring account (sorry Marie, we just chose a post at random) anyhow Armed with this knowledge, and the date and time, it seems possible that someone (TU) could obtain (legally or otherwise) any user's personal information that was logged on to the ISP at that time using that IP Address!!!!!!!!! This friend also mentioned the way to prevent this is by using one of the anonymous posting services that will not reveal your IP address We just did a few more traces....people on here using at&t , alter.net, you name it VERY REVEALING and A CAUSE FOR CONCERN
Re: Re: This board is being watched Not even a problem. They can even use satellite photos and see your house and with a bit of luck they can even see or figure out what your house number is. Simple as falling off a log. That is the problem that some have who insist on slamming others. They can be tracked down and they can be hauled into a court of law and lose their butt and all it's fixtures if they overstep certain limits. And more and more states are passing laws which make it easier and easier to do. Oklahoma has a new one that is a real bear trap. Yes, it is called a proxy server. It won't work in all cases but it can be helpful in some. Public proxy servers are easy to find. Or you can set up one in your own system. That gets a bit complicated however as one needs to use a modem(of course) then a router and then a dedicated machine(server) with two networking cards in it, a hub(if more than one machine is being used) and then on into the computer. The server handles all incoming and outgoing traffic, keeps intruders out, is often loaded with dormant trojans and virus programs so hackers get those instead of the real files if they do get in and also handles all the outgoing traffic as well. Public proxies are also available and often free. They can be of great value from time to time but not under normal circumstances.
Re: Re: This board is being watched Please. <rant> Stop the madness! Who cares if they get my ip address? It's not like I'm trafficking in kiddie porn here. WE'RE SPEAKING OUR OPINIONS. Let them even try to tell me in court that I can't voice my opinion. I'd pack my bags and head to China ASAP if the judge upheld that line of crap. Further, so WHAT if they have my IP address. Are they going to use the USA PATRIOT act to secretly obtain my house #, and telephone?!?! Are they going to turn on Carnivore or Omnivore to capture my every steaming guilty packet? OMG!!! They're after me. Not. It's so far fetched, and this information is so misconstrued that it may scare some people on this board into not communicating their thoughts and ideas. That would be BAD. Listen: really - I'm *NOT* bashing your ideas, and please don't think I'm insulting you. I enjoy seeing people bring issues like this to the table. But I must clarify based on my experience. I'm ALSO in the IT business, and am a security expert for a large firm. I've seen tools that make your friends' tool look like a dull rock. I have seen scary tools, both commercial and military grade. I'd worry more about your own DSL or CABLE connection and the 13yr old in Minnesota with the newest root kit. The real issue here is who gives a flipping donut what THEY find out? Anything they do subversively to collect information I'll quickly turn right back around and use as good ammo in my newest law suit about them infringing upon my privacy without a court order. That will involve large damage amounts and jail time for their staff. Weeeeee! This is all IMHO anyway. </rant>
Re: Re: Re: This board is being watched I thought it was the CRA'S and CA'S that people are worried about...BUT THEY ALREADY HAVE YOUR PHONE NUMBER AND ADDRESS...
Re: Re: This board is being watched Why? Conspiracy theories have always been a great source of entertainment and laughs for those who recognize them for what they are. I've had the Oklahoma State Attorney General's office attempt to do just exactly that after Bkev's attacks about a year which resulted in my getting kicked off this and other boards. That didn't work too well. Seems that the Oklahoma State Court of Criminal Appeals didn't agree with their position. And no, they didn't file any suits on me and they didn't throw me in jail. I just knew how to use a prior ruling of that court to suggest that they might not wish to do any such thing as that.
Re: Re: Re: This board is being watched Paranoics are worried about everything and everybody. A trivial matter not to be considered. If it's not the CRA's or the CAs who are out to get them then it must be the paramedics or the paralegals or the fire department. Even those two coming up the sidewalk all dressed up in white smocks and carrying a straight jacket must be out to get them.
Re: Re: Re: This board is being watched Let's look at the facts: There are 6 billion peeple in this country Let's say people with credit problems are 20% That's 1.2 billion people Let's say 10,000 people are regstered to this board That's 0.000166% of all people with "bad credit" The point? We are not a big threat to them. And by the way - try to find my identity with an IP address. Who cares if you know what ISP I use. You can even find out which area my IP address originates from. Big whoop. Hey, sorry LKH, you've always been very helpful to us all. Hey CRA's - we just want OUR info ACCURATE!
Re: Re: Re: Re: This board is being watched Who started this thread? The same guy that said the CA killed his dog? NO!!!!
Re: Re: Re: This board is being watched Did you happen to read the very first post? The cra sent me a threatening letter based upon them figuring out MY NAME, from info gathered here.
At the end of time, there will only be three things left: 1) Cockroaches 2) Cher 3) This Thread And of those three things, I prefer this thread the most. Doc
Re: Re: This board is being watched Well, if we are being watched, I would like to say: F U EXPERIAN!
Re: Re: Re: Re: This board is being watched Sheesh! And they thought they needed population control in China! Now we have gone from about 280 million to 6 billion in the time it took to post one message on creditnet! Rabbits in the Australian outback can't even reproduce that fast! Will miracles never cease? (LOL)
Re: Re: Re: This board is being wat AND TRANS UNION!!! AND EXPERIAN TOO!! -- There, I've posted to this thread too

Re: Re: Re: This board is being wat Now that is quite true George. The only problem is that Geedubya (the other George) has not yet conquered the world and the poster said "in this country."
Re: Re: Re: Re: This board is being wat I was just CLARIFYING where the 6,000,000,000 came from...USA vs. WORLD. (SEE ALL 3 NUMBERS ABOVE)
