I don't doubt it at all, Next thing we know, 'ole BINGO will step up for the next round.

You may have run across 'ole BINGO in another thread at where he said, "If the date of activity is wrong... BINGO..."

Then again in the same thread, he said "if it still shows a balance... BINGO..."

Haven't looked outside, but I'd almost be willing to bet the moon is full phase right now.
Or is it that Halloween is rapidly approaching. That must be it! Seems I saw a headless horseman or two around these parts tonight.

Actually, bigboy, what's obvious is this:

    1) You are on a cable modem in Austin, Texas.
    2) Velma signs on with AOL.
    3) Bill Bauer is hooked up with DSL through Southwestern Bell

Armed with this bit of obvious information, it would make about as much sense that Velma=bigboy as it does to guess that Velma=bbauer. Thanks for your incredible insight, though.

Can you tell me where I am?

Anna, does the Liberty Bell sound familiar to you at all? My only question for you would be which county is yours -- Greene, Washington, or Fayette?

    Doc

P.S. This isn't much of a magic trick, I promise, lol.

You don't EVEN want to know

    Anna:

I don't think you really even want to know! (LOL)

WOW! I'm impressed! Have you had any dreams about me? One thing, though. Greene, Fayette, and Washington Counties are all in the western end, the Liberty Bell in the east.

Oh no, my psychic vision is getting blurred. Ditch the Liberty Bell, the vibes are resonating strongly in the west, and the color green features most prominently in my mind's eye. With that, I'll take leave of you, let the dogs out, and get breakfast. Morning, Anna!

What's obvious is that you don't have a clue. Maybe it's more like bigboy = bobby?

Bill, have you ever seen them violate the Fair Billing Act. ?

    Mr. Brown.
Yep, that too. Although it's a bit of a stretch to say the least to claim FCBA violation against a 3rd party debt collector or a creditor when dealing with a late charge or other added charges to a delinquent bill if that's what you are referring to. And since one would be limited to the $1000 max under FDCPA for damages plus if you hired an attorney you might end up having to pay them more than you got out of it in terms of damages since what the law allows one to collect in terms of attorney fees is pretty low in the eyes of some attorneys.

Yes, I do believe that one could easily come to the conclusion that a creditor or 3rd party collector violates FCBA, but given the provisions of the law, I have yet to see any real usefulness in attempting to make the stretch.

Maybe you have seen something in the law that I have missed???

    Re: Move over, Einstein!

It is interesting... Length of "membership"... Number of postings... Style of writing... I think someone showed they both use the #1 ISP... Lack of a denial... Misdirection to personal attacks...

    Red flags starting to rise...

BINGO BILL... That was me... What's your point? Or do you have one? Trying to make it personal again? Why don't you try providing links to the entire discussion? Wait... a bully wouldn't do that....

I'll put my credit scores up against yours anytime BILL.... I'm not raping these people for advice, spamming boards trying to get $35 per month from them...

Hey Doc... Thought you might like to know that this info can be wrong/faked also... Anyone could use a second account, connect to AOL through their ISP (BBauer has some AOL screenshots on his website BTW), use a filtering service like websafe or login via a second computer...

Further, you'd have to check with PBM, but I'm not sure that the IP addresses are live info... they could be just from when the email is sent to confirm "membership"...

thought you'd like to know good buddy.... ROCKY TOP!

Gee, I guess I should have read the board last night, instead of posting after the topic is worn out and such... My take on this is some people just have to have something to bi*ch about all the time.
A lot of times, if I don't like the way the subject sounds, I just don't read it. I read this board for several months before I became a member, even though I only have a few posts. Hey, some people you like, some you don't. Anyway, that's my take on this deal. BTW, if you don't like the advice that someone gives, don't take it.

    Great Advice, Realbad.

Only problem is that there are always rocket scientists around that simply would not use your good advice under any conditons because it would either upset their calculations or ruin their day if they couldn't figure out how to balm their altered egos.

    Re: Great Advice, Realbad.

The IP address above our posts is the one the user signed up with. Only admin can see where they actually are each time they visit the board.

For instance, I signed up with a local provider and it was 205.252.74.25 - that would point you to Capital Area Internet Service - a backbone provider in the northern VA, DC area, that my ISP uses.

However they have recently added other access (so they had to add more numbers), since we were having trouble getting to the internet - so right now, if you could see it, it would be 65.120.51.206 - it's still CAIS, still exis.net, but different IP address than what you are seeing.

Same thing, when we were having trouble, at times I would use Juno, but you all would never know it - you still saw the same IP address I had before. But the techies can see where I really am.

So, going by the IP address that we see is no indicator at all where the person really is, or even what service they are using.

However, as I understand it, you can use other stuff to see what service a person is using and where they are located.
