    OK,

So I've been doing my best to be a good boy, I'm trolling through Creditnet and doing my best to get my score up, when lo and behold, I call a CA up to settle a bill - in earnest and full good will.

This is IC System in MINN and the OC is Primus Telecommunications. The bill is a measly 149.29...

    THE PROBLEM:
I'm responding to a threatening letter from CA to report this to CRA, but if I pay in full they refuse to fax or send me in any way a note saying they will not
report this if I settle... the supervisor told me that the account is still in the validation stage and woudn't be reported until the 21st... he said the best they can do is send me a receipt IF i send a letter asking for same... (They refuse to use faxes for "legal reasons")

Am I just being a nitpicky, Irish Virgo, or do I have a right to be upset? Some ahole on their end could make a typo and screw me for a mortgage in 3 months, I think....

Cardinal Rule No. 1 - Don't call CA's they will get anybody's Irish up :)

Did you send validation and its not on your reports yet, right? Validation is not up until they send you the full and proper validation. Do they really want to jump thru those hoops or are they willing provide you a signed settlement just to close the books on this alleged debt, that you are not sure is yours?

    Send them a letter.

    Thanks, JLynn,

I just got a call back from a guy who began insisting I pay -- I told him the issue again, and I mentioned I might have to go to the ER right away because of a hernia -- WHICH IS THE TRUTH!

He said "Why don't you take your credit card out now and these calls will all go away..."

I will have them validate! Thanks for the advice!!!

OK, so they want to play the game. Play with them, only on your terms. On he 29th day send them a validation letter CMRRR and a partial cease-comm letter allowing only written communication. Keep them running around in circles by giuving a list of required documents for proper validation:

*Copy of Contract with your signature on it
*Copy of all postings from day-one to present
*Copies of all charge slips with your signature on them from day one
*Copy of OC's Articles of Incorporation (how else will you know which company they are referring to? Do you know how many companies there are out there with the same name?
*Copy of company's authorization to do business in your state.
*Copy of CA's authority to act in company's name
*Copy of CA's authority to do business in your state
*Copy of CA's Articles of Incorporation or other Organizational documents.....

I could go on forever, like asking for proof of ACC Filings (in Arizona) every year and payment of the filing fee (so i know they are STILL the same entity they say they were at organization...... You get the idea - send them on a big paper chase.

When this mountain of paper gets to you (if it ever does), start disputing it, line by line.
