Well, I am finally free from 99% of my credit problems and am well on my way back to "normal". However, recently something has been happening that definitely provides a different twist on dealing with collection agencies..

A relative of mine was visiting a couple of weeks ago, and while they were here, they must have called a collection agency from my house and given them my number as a contact number. They were only here for a couple of days, and have since gone back to their own home.

Now, this collector (his name is Greg Bird from "Client Services") keeps calling my house asking for them. Today, he called at 8:00 AM and left a message. I had enough at that point and I called him myself and told him that the party he was asking for didn't live here and I gave him their correct phone number.

This clown then begins to tell me how she wasn't returning his messages, and it was so important, blah blah blah and basically not listening to me. This guy was basically treating me like the debtor and getting very disrespectful and condescending with me! I'm not even the person he is trying to get a hold of! He didn't discuss the details of the issue, but I asked him if he had heard of the FDCPA and that he had better not call here again because I was not intimidated by him and I knew my rights. I then gave him the contact number of my relative again and hung up on him.

My question is, if this guy continues to call here, what violations do I have on him and how do I get him to stop? This isn't even my situation (for a change) so I shouldn't have to get involved, but how do I handle it if he continues to call here looking for them??

I know how to handle him if it was my account, but it isn't. Any ideas??

Call the phone company and report them for harassing communications.
