I have been reading posts about people sending PFBs to Mr. Cooke, so I was like.. ok worth a shot... Well he calls me today.. Got rid of the Anual fee... Unsecured the card - $199 credit.. I asked for a limit increase, even though I had gotten one 3 months ago thru normal means, what the heck, right? Well he gave me a 500 dollar increase! He was great, and you are all great for sharing the info! Thanks so much! Im on my way to a brighter future! Oh, also I have been reading about becoming an AU on a friend or relatives credit card... how much do you think this would help? I called my parents and they said they could add me to one if I wanted, and also my girlfriend said she would help me. I was really nervous to ask them... but before I try it, I wanted to make sure it would be of great help, because I think it is a lot to ask of them... My mom says she has a DMB Titanium with 5,300 line, doesnt use.. not sure about the girlfriend. Thanks everyone!!
Mr. Cooke - does he work for Cap 1?? If so, can you repost his e-mail or phone number and what you said to him (So that I'll know what to say). I've always been told that authorized user doesn't do anything for your credit since you're not liable for the card. But I could be wrong. Now regarding adding yourself to your mother's card. If I may ask, how many open accounts do you have? If you think you have too many this may not help as you could be considered "over-extended". However, if you're starting/re-establishing then YES! - ask her to add you to the card (My pref would be as a joint carduser). Hope this helps... GT
AU are a wonderful thing..lol! THis is what I done for my baby sister. So....It is well worth your time if you can be added. Just let them know that you can be added and do NOT have to have a card. That way they don't have to worry about your running up charges. Just let them know you only want the benefit of it reporting to your CR. Beware... some cards don't report AU's.
Thanks for the info! Mr. Cooke works for Capital 1, just send them a message via Planet Feedback, and he will call you. Currently I have 3 Visa all at about a 1k limit each. I have heard before its bad to have too much open credit, but everyone here seems to be trying to increase their limits etc.. so it must help scores more then it hurts, I guess the key is the debt ratio on the cards... not really sure, Im pretty new..
