Experian removed the JCPenney account from my CR at last!!!!! Should have checked Credit Expert before I made that big long "Leverage" post this morning..lol. Still have TU to go on this one, but it is such a euphoric feeling to feel like you are really making progress. No more lack of motivation for me. This account was verified twice, "already investigated" once and now finally...it is goooone! So don't give up. Thanks to everyone here for your input, advice and for putting up with my often times rambling sagas. Laura P.S. It ony bumped up my score by four points, but hey...I'll take that! Not even discouraged anymore about my first CR back in Oct. showing 12 negative accounts and a 598 score and today showing 5 (three are duplicates) negative accounts and a 579 score.
Congratulations !!! How did you get them to verify that item the third time - I would have thought they would refuse you after the second verification. -Sal
Thanks, Sal! I'm not sure they verified a third time or were responding to a letter from GE Card Services telling them to delete. I disputed with GE Card Services directly (three times with no response...the third was an estoppel letter) while also disputing with EX. In a last ditch attempt before filing suit, I called them, asked for a manager. Manager called me back and after I layed it all out said he would send a delete to the bureaus and to me. I received my letter from them dated Feb 1...I had sent in another dispute to Experian on Jan 28 basically telling them I didn't care if they had already investigated it was still wrong and pointing out that if this was indeed my account and was listed as included in BK in 1998, then why didn't the BK show up as a public record and why were there no other notations. I didn't file for bk. Also faxed the delete letter to EX on the 13th and now its gone! Hopefully TU will follow suit and I can move on to the next error. This is really empowering! L
Oh I see, sounds like you hit them from all angles. I'm sure the letter from the crediter was what did it.
