How can I tell which TLâ??s are tied to which addresses? My DH has an address on his EX report that is not his. We live in VA and ALWAYS have but he had a CA address showing up on his report.
Do you have an address showing up in another state that you never lived at? Is there a CA listing for an account that is not yours? You might just call the CRA and ask them.
No, CA is the only other state that is showing up. I will have to look at the TL's to see is any are in CA.
Maybe I should clarify (confusion betwee CA=state vs. CA=collection agency): Is there a TL on your report for an account you don't recognize as yours?
If an address shows up that you have never lived at, it is from information reported by some creditor or Collection Agency. It may indicate they are mixing someone elses information with yours (someone else applied, or an error in data entry, resulted in information on someone elses account being linked to your report by, say, SSN.) It may also indicate a deliberate attempt by someone to open an account using your credit record. Start with the CRA to find out who is reporting it, and whether other information submitted at the same time matched your info. You may need to dispute the account as "not mine", and also check your other credit reports. If it appears to be deliberate, you may need to treat it as an identity theft case and file a police report, and place a fraud alert on your reports.
