    what would happen to the plaintiff if he/she miss the pretrial hearing?
    can the defendant get awarded a judgmnt against the plaintiff?

    Only in the sense that the Judge can dismiss teh Plaintiff's case.

    However, if teh defendant filed a countersuit..... then yes, the defendant could get a default judgement on the countersuit

    the defendant filed a motion for summary judgment.....
