You asked how many open accounts I have? Equifax - 11 -. I actually have 9 but 2 older accounts I closed a number of years ago still show r1. I don't know if FICO scoring counts these 2 accounts as open even though there has been no activity on them for a few years. Experian and TU - 9 -. I think having having 18 accounts on Experian shows that lenders overall view you as a good risk but a lot of people here on the board feel that a number this high might be harming you as you seek new credit. I forgot to mention... I have 3 discharged BK related items on EQ and EX each; and 2 on TU. However, the public record of the BK only got recorded on Equifax. Also, if it is worth anything I have about another 20 closed accounts showing as paid on time / never late going back 15 years on all reports.
Re: I forgot to mention... That's interesting Jim! Our reports are very close with exception of the time of the BK's. You get approved (of course you will and I got denied. Go figure!! Keep me posted! Chet
