OK, I just found something new on my report. I don't know why. If it was there before I missed it. There is a mortgage showing that is not mine (really!!) It is my ex-husband's and his new wife's. The thing about it is that it's paid off. Never late. So it's a positive mortgage tradeline mortgage. Since they sold the house and it's paid off, if I get it off I'll never get it back. I haven't been monitoring scores long, so I don't know what kind of effect it's had. My dilemma is, do I leave it alone or do I dispute it and lose a positive? My inclination is to leave it alone, but it really isn't mine. I have my current mortgage and my paid off mortgage as well. Any thoughts?
I have an old trade line on my report that I know is not mine. But it is a positive, 13 years old, and still current with no lates ever. I am going to leave it be. It is only on TU. My TU is higher than my EQ by almost 20 points and I think the credit history is why. My histories on my other 2 reports are a few months shy of 5 years. I have a super common first name, and my last name is even more common. I get mystery listings all the time. Dispute the bad, leave the good. I had a paid off car show up for a few months, but I guess that they realized that I could not pay off a car at the age of 12, and deleted it. I hate smart databases.
Since I'm well over the age of 12, I don't have to worry about that one! That was my inclination--in this case, just let sleeping dogs lie. I just wish I could get his *crap* off of my report. It looks like he hasn't taken my name off of a lot of his accounts. If I go to the OC, they say he has to reapply to get me off. He won't do that. I'm trying to figure out how to force it, without spending another $4K for a lawyer, like I did the last time I went after him.

i disputed a good tradeline i had with my exgirl but its an open credit card. it was never late but it does utilize 35%. i just figure if she ever messes up i dont wanna dispute a bad tl and have more trouble getting it off. i was an au on it. i would say leave the mortgage since its a closed account.
He owes money, but it looks like he's paying monthly. No lates for a couple of years. The problem is that they're credit card accounts, so they increase my available credit. I just got turned down for having too many open accounts.
