Ice_Siren, I noticed you said in one of your posts that Colorado's SOL is 6 years. I thought it was only 3 years for "open-ended accounts" which includes credit cards. What's your source?

Well my original source was an attorney friend in Colorado who I contacted about a promissory note that someone was trying to sue me on which falls under a written contract. NOLO was another and it is also where I glanced at the TX SOL. A written contract is 6 years in CO, 4 in TX. As for lin's thread and what I posted: I was referring to my specific situation, not hers. Mine, is again, a written contract. I was making her aware of the fact that there are SOLs that can help her situation in whatever forms they come in. Had I known my name was going to appear outside of that thread questioning my sources rather than WHAT kind of debt we are talking about, I would have told her all the gory details. Yet she got the gist and looked up SOLs in general and in her state. And now hopefully she is better informed.

Heh, I feel your pain now LB. I read a thread susanna has going and it concerns CO and TX so I understand the reason behind the post. Just not why it's not titled "to experts et al" with a generalized question for everyone rather than one that says for Ice and others but that singles moi out. BUT, the good news is that I saw a post of the woman I was trying to help and she got the gist of what I was saying and managed to find all about written contracts AND open accounts in her state without me having to spell it all out for her.
Ice_Siren, I apologize if my "singling" you out caused a problem for you. That was not my intent...The only reason I did was that you specifically mentioned the CO SOL in another thread and I thought you may have some updated information/source etc. that I didn't have. I assumed you were talking about open-ended accounts. I live in Colorado and the SOL is a big issue for me right now.

Like I said Susanna, I understand, not a big deal. This medium does not make for the easiest interpretation of the tone someone is taking. My thinking is that a new thread with someones name on it is reserved for the gurus like Butch. I would have been happy to answer your inquiry in the thread you were referring to. Anyways, I am sure you have already found it, but the Colorado AG site has some good info for you as far as your neighbor situation and also to see if that CA is licensed in CO. Let me know if I can help.
Re: Re: Re: To ice_siren et al...CO SOL I Think ice_siren is right on SOL in CO being 6 yrs. The link IBrown59 referred you to in her reply is dated 1998. Here's the one I use and it is dated 2004. http://www.carronandassociates.com/articles/sol.htm I confirmed a lot of the info I got there with my state statues and codes and it checked out. It also gives info on the CA requirements for each state, The bond, lic and registration requirements if any (if any). With that being said. I have to confess I'm still a newbe. I have received some excellent info and direction on this site from its members and especially ice_siren and hedwig. I'm the one ice_siren was referring to in this thread. I really appreciated his and Helwig's input and it lead me to sites and info that answered all my questions. They never professed to knowing it all, just their opinions! As it turned out they have been very accurate. I felt they were really trying to help me and thats what I was looking for. We need more members like them! There's and old saying: "people don't care how much you know til they know how much you care"
