to keep or not to keep?

    Hi Everyone,

I've been around a few months posting infrequently and mostly just reading and learning. This board has helped me go from really bad credit to decent and getting better in about 6 months.

My scores just jumped last month as I got my last major derogatory removed. Just for giggles I applied for a Cap One Gold and to my surprise, got approved. Small loc ($500) but it's 0% for 6 months and then goes to 14.9%, a bargain compared to what I currently have.
I guess I was feeling lucky after this so i went and applied for a Citi AAdvantage tonight, and got approved for a 5K limit. I did some more reading here, got up the dander and applied for a AAdvantage Gold an hour later, got approved for a 6K limit. It feels great to see some progress after putting in the work to get my cr's cleaned up.

Anyway, here is what I have and I'm looking for any advice as to how to proceed from here.

Cross Country Silver Preferred (I know, I know, but they gave me a card when nobody else would)
    3.5yrs old
    $3250 Limit
    20.99%

Sears -AU on my wife's account
    3 yrs old
    $1750 Limit
    20.99%

    Cap One Gold
    1 month Old
    $500 limit
    0% for 6mo, then 14.9%

    Citi AAdvantage Gold
    1 hour old
    $6K
    14.9%

    Citi AAdvantage
    2 Hours
    $5K
    14.9%

Would it be better to cancel the CCB Card or to just transfer the existing balance off of it and keep it around because it is my oldest trade line?
Should I call Cap One and cancel that now that I have the Citi Cards?

You could call sears and say you are closing account and they will connect you to someone.,And will lower your A.P.R. to 16.9% card will help score as retail card

It sounds like you're short on positive accounts. I'd keep them all for the time being if I were you.

I agree with Dave. Keep them and keep your balances LOW and your payments ON TIME. Wait six months and then apply for some better cards with lower goto APR's.
