I called Experian today as I have not received any news on the round 3 Junum dispute(s) sent in March. Experian claims they never received them. The rep did have a record of the previous disputes on the computer. The rep asked me if I would like to dispute over the telephone. I declined. This was a very normal conversation with an Experian rep. After I hung up the telephone, I called Experian on another toll free automated telephone number and ordered a copy of my credit report based on the fact that I had been denied credit. Again, nothing abnormal here. the automated message said that I would get the report in 8 - 10 days. What is abnormal is that in April, E-loan reported I only have 2 negative items on my report instead of the 3 that there should be. Also, I cannot log onto my report on-line at the EX website. I have tried for 3 weeks. Also, I have been unable to get my report via Experian Credentials - they claim they never received my request!!. Anyway, in fairness to Junum, I am going to hold off reporting on my 3rd round of disputes until I actually have an EX report in hand. Maybe they got an item off or maybe they didn't. I will look forward to your next Lexington update when you have something to share with us. Jim
Sounds like an Equifax game. I don't believe anything those cra reps say. Either they lie half the time or they are just plain stupid. When I was looking for my first round results, I called experian a couple of times. The results they gave me by phone were wrong both times. I sent my Experian report to Lexington today. Then I checked at myjunum. I had asked them when I was going to get my free month. I never got an answer but my account shows a free month from June to July, now that I am going with Lex. Figures. Also, I have received about 4 emails from Lexington so far. A welcome letter, a note about what the $75 setup fee is for and what the breakdown is. So far, I am very impressed. I never even got my welcome package from Junum and they don't respond very quickly to email, if at all. Good luck with Experian.
Thanks for your thoughts LKH. I continue to believe that the CRA reps are trained to lie and be devious when we challenge our credit reports. The sole purpose they have is to intimidate us and coererce us into saying something damaging that can be used against you or me. Therefore, I do not regret waiting 60 days to call. For all I know, an updated EX report may show up in the mail tomorrow and the rep knows this and lied about it today. I am glad to hear Lex is off to a good start on your account.
