    Current offers with existing cards:
    Chase: Xfer >$5k, $0 fee, 0% through AUG 2003 (for lower amounts, $2.5k @ 1.99%,
    $500 @ 2.99%)

HOW LONG HAVE YOU HAD YOUR CHASE ACCOUNT ?

    Visa - 9/99 ... 16.5k
    MC (Shell) - 10/00 ... 10k

I almost always carry a promo balance on the Visa 4-6k @ 1.99 or so. When the rate runs out, I xfer out and they come back with another cheap xfer rate.

This is the first time I've ever seen 0% + $0 fee ... for 13 months!

George got his over a week ago - just got mine today ... maybe they're reviewing accounts to see who to offer it to?

We've got an MBNA coming off of 0% and I'll use Discover for that one.

Between MBNA and Discover, I will have financed $10k at 0 for 18 months. Unfortunately, my investments have done about as well :)

My response from Chase. Guess they don't like me enough yet?

    Hello Mr. E.

Thank you for your request for a lower rate. At the present time, there
is no lower interest rate available on your account. However, accounts
are periodically reviewed for promotional rate sales and we request you
    contact us in the future.

If you have any further questions, please contact us at:

    Cherie-

I have yet to get Chase to lower the APR on the Visa account - but it's a moot point, since I only use it for promo xfers.

Did you ask for account APR to be lowered or a special bal xfer rate?

I'd call the cust. svc. people and discuss it -- they may be more helpful than the email people.

    Good luck!

    Mj.

The current rate on the account is 6.4% variable. so I think this is why no promo's are offered. That's a good rate.. but I am getting better deals with the promo's. I am okay with not having another transfer offer right now.. so I will wait a while before I call. Thanks for your responses today.

    Cherie,

I don't think that is it, my normal rate is 6.15%, but I got the 0% offer too.
