I know, you're probably saying...."I wish she would just sit down somewhere". But I just wanted to know what should I do while I'm waiting for my scores to increase.

Should I go and "pre-qualify" for a home mortgage? Or should I wait until my score has increased to 600 (curr: 579)

What happens in the Pre-qualifying stage? Is a credit report pulled?

Do I need to obtain more credit cards? I currently have 2...one Providian Visa and one Orchard Bank MC.

I have an installment loan (car loan) and a unsecure loan. That's it. Nothing more...nothing less. What do I do?

Thanks. I should change my name to stressing. ;o)

Hey Mom2. I am in the exact same boat as you. I pulled my credit score (at $12.95 a pop) 3 times in the last 2 1/2 weeks. Tell me I'm not crazy!!!! I just can't stand it. I signed up with Junum 3 weeks ago and I just don't know if I can't wait long enough to get thru 1 round of disputes much less 3!!! I am also trying to get a mortgage (as quickly as possible) and think I'm gonna go for it as is this week. The last time I checked my score was 617 (it went down because a new line of credit showed up). I know it could be better with Junum's help, but I don't think I can stand it any longer!!!

Everyone is talking about staying on the wagon and not applying for more credit. I am trying to stay on the wagon of not pulling my own report! (how pathetic....)

I will be very anxious to hear Momof3's response to your post!

When I went for a prequalify the ran our reports (hard inquiry by the way) and then the lender sent me all the long and drawn out paperwork. You would then have to fill that all in and send it back then they will go over your credit reports more in depth.

I would probably wait a little while before prequalifying, this is by no means a preapproval. Mortgages can go so quick these days, I think you should wait to see what Junum does for you first and wait to see how this affects your scores.

    Also

Keep asking questions, we don't mind a bit. That is how I learned most of what I know from asking and searching and reading.
