Shyguy, I saw your post from yesterday.

I hope you saw my thread about getting a $500 target card with a Drivers license and a visa card. Today, I used the card to buy a CD.

Now a couple of issues come to my mind about the ease with which I got the card. Let me think out loud here because a number of people here told me they had been turned down at Target as they have a BK in their background. Also, I saw my Experian score in Feb and it had dropped to 574 from 641 in May. Here goes:

    1. I have passed the 2 year mark since discharge of my BK. Maybe the target creddit algorithm only looks at the last 2 years of credit history and ignores FICO scores and BKs?

    2. If they pulled EX or TU, the BK never made it into the public record although there are respectively 3 and 2 discharged accounts showing right on the files. EQ has the public record and 3 discharged items.

    3. I assume Junum is disputing the EQ and EX items at this time. Maybe, just maybe, they are not showing to the lenders???? Sounds far fetched.

    4. Since this April, maybe my FICO score is rebounding upward and I had the minimum score needed.

    Hope this helps.
