accounts - I posted this earlier this week and didn't get much response. I am looking for an online bank that offers ACH transfers online like X.com did.

Is ACH transfers like direct deposit? Because if so, NetBank has that.

ACH is the automated clearing house - it lets you transfer money from one bank account to a bank account at another bank instantly online.

I think Netbank has that, but I'm not positive. You can check them out at www.netbank.com

You may be able to initiate the transaction instantly, but the money is not transferred instantly.

Did you try compubank? I know they have wire transfers, direct transfers, and bill pay all free. I have had an account with them for over a year. You receive a debit card and they don't charge you any ATM fees. They also reinburse you up to $1.50 per transaction the fees the other bank charges you. there is a limit amount of reinbursement transactions per month, I can't remember what it is though.

I *think* this is what you are asking.

    Here's what I use...

Here's what I've been using for about 8 months now without any problems, they do offer online ACH transfers:

When X.com was around, I could go online, transfer an amount equal to my line of credit and it would be available instantly.

X.com did not allow "email" or withdrawals from your line of credit, only from available cash. (This rule went into effect at about month 2 of x.com's miserable existence)

I hate to tell you this, but my line of credit was available to me until about 3 months ago. They had sent out an email after about 2 months of existence stating that all loc were being cut in half, but at that time my loc was maxed out and they never reduced it despite my paying it off every month.

CreditWorks uses E-Trade to do our trading. They have a bank. We have a trading account linked to a brick and mortart bank in New Jersey. Funds can be transferred daily to a max of $25,000/day. They are available for trading 2 days later. We do not use their bank, but they are a reputable company with a good track record. We tried opening an account with Compubank, but I guess the paperwork got lost in the shuffle. We never heard from them after we faxed them the required documents.

My point was that you could not go to x.com, and email or "withdraw" ach out of your credit line.

I use usa.bancshares.com. There is not even a charge for incoming ACH transfers. They take ATM deposits too.

I wrote a comprehensive review about their services. It's on my finance page if you're interested.

    RE: wingspanbank.

First usa's wingspanbank.com lets you make over VOICE 1-800 phone line, one ACH per day, Max $2500, no fee.

They also accept atm deposits at thousands (really) of shared credit union depositary places.

Only 3 locations in the Atlanta Metro, but its a better deal than many of the other online banks, which don't let you make a physical ATM deposit of cash/check/etc..

I got wingspanbank, and usa bancshares, and netbank, even though i have 2 Chex closures (bad me!). YMMV on approval.

I am very happy with wingspanbank so far, good service, no baloney x.com treatment, their online servers seem always up and reasonably fast.

Yahoo, has a pay direct system. www.paydirect.yahoo.com
this allows you to take money off of your other accounts (checking, savings, and even credit cards), plus there is no charge. Great source for ACH.
