I am really freaking out right now. We got our mortgage from a local company in 1998. Back in 2000, my husband lost his job and despite my working full time - we fell behind 60 days on our payments. The entire 60 days, we made payments ($100 here and there) but we never actually got it caught up until the third month. Now the mortgage company is in the middle of changing hands, and so I disputed my payment history with Experian as never late. (I know I was, but I thought, I'll try it anyway.) Other than those two months, we had made every payment. Well, this morning I looked at CE and our mortgage has been changed from a negative status to Open/Never Late, but it still says "Under Investigation". My score hasn't moved yet, but it still is reflecting a score from the 20th - which is two days ago. Any thoughts? A mistake maybe? Gosh, I hope not!
This IS TRUE!!!! It may take a couple of days for the "Under Investigation" to drop off and the score to change, but this is VERY MUCH a positive outcome for YOU!! I just had an EQ tradeline updated in the exact same manner. Day 1 - the status is changed from R9 to R1, and "still under investigation" Day 3 - the "still under investigation" dropped off. Congratulations!
Javan - Thanks for making my day!!! Gosh, I have been so nervous since I saw that. I am sitting here wanting to go back on and look again, but I will wait until tonight. How much did your score change when your rating changed? (I am at a piddly 574 right now on Experian. I am hoping it will throw me into the 600's.)
