This is gonna sound dumb but here goes. My score and my hubby's scores are the best they've ever been right now - just a few days mine were a lot lower, but my hubby's has been steadily climbing (well with the exception of TU - that one's going down for some weird reason). I just got approved for Fleet 0% 'til 6/03...it was a mail invitation. My hubby just got one too. I'm pretty sure he'd be approved also for the same deal, his scores are higher than mine, only 1 derog from 1995 on Eq. His BOA 2.9% runs out next month. My Discover 0% runs out in September. I'll be making a large purchase in about 2 weeks - (about $3,000) and of course want to pay as little interest as possible, so the Fleet 0% is wonderful, although I don't see paying off that balance by the time the 0% is over. We just opted out - so we won't be getting preapprovals much longer, which is fine becuase we have more than sufficient credit... but I'm just wanting to pay as little interest as possible. I've learned from the board to always have a back up card in case one creditor gets a bug up their butt and decides to jack your rates for no reason or for a reason. So I'm concerned that if we utilize these 0% deals now, that we won't be eligible for any later (too many open accounts, too much available credit, any reason). What I'd like to know is how much success people have had getting low rate BT's to existing cards - meaning a card you've had for 2 or 3 years.. the BTs are pretty free flowing for new accounts but I'm just concerned for BT's down the road should our rates be jacked. I hope I explained this okay... Ozzy.
TOO MANY 0.00% OFFERS??? NEVER!!!! Isn't too may 0.00% offers like a girl too PRETTY?? Or someone too RICH??? A COUNTRY SONG...
The only way I can see a problem is if you max out every credit card you own. Just be reasonable about the debt/cl ratios and you'll be safe. At 0% you should be able to pay down a pile of debt in a year.
I don't really have any new accounts, but I am still getting 0% offfers from accounts I have had for years. Just maybe, it may have something to do with my use of the cards, I use all offers under 10%. www.creditsense.com
