I've heard that inquiries have the most effect for the first six months. How long is it before that will stop being the primary reason for being declined? Six months? A year...or perhaps the full two years?

I just got off the phone with the equifax creditwatch people that go over your score with you. (866-345-8847) and was told that inquiries have less affect on scores the higher your score is. If you have a lower score, inquiries will count more. He told me as soon as the inquiry is pulled, you get the hit on your score. But next month it counts less and so on. He said after 6 months it will have no affect on your score. By the way, when my accounts update to show 0 balances this month, I will be in the 700 club. Finally!
