with a 7000 credit line Woo hoo!! The rate is a little higher but I wanted one more card. I want to see how an increase in avaiable credit jacks up our score. Thanks for everyones advice. Sometimes you win them!!! Diane143
I am in the Northeast and they pulled TU. The first time around I was declined because I had a little bit over 50 percent of the credit limit on one card and I had no major credit card reporting. Stupid me. I did not wait for the report to be updated. In truth I had paid off all most all of the card in question and my new Mastercard just started reporting the DAY I got my rejection letter. At that time I think my score was 635. But it had gone up to 675 because of that new card reporting and paying down my balance. Thier reconsideration department told me to send in the updated report so that they did not have to put another inquiry on my report. I did and then I got approved at 675. No deroggs just a newer credit history.
BTW I think the credit limit is based on income. Our household is $82,000. The APR right now is 14.50% and balance transfers are 9.90%.
cool well maybe that is one I can get someday. I have a 680 now with 1 negative collection that should be removed anyday now. The CA faxed deletion over a week ago but TU keeps denying they received it yet but in 3 weeks the dispute is up and if it does not go bye bye then I know TU is lying. My problem is inquiries(11 left) and a 97% revolving cc use but the cc is only 1k so I will just pay it down.
Come to think of it...I don't think they could have used my updated score to approve me because i did not send it in. The thing that they want to see is low balances, few if any deroggs and at least one other bank card. BTW I just applyed for a "preapproved" Cap One Gold card and they checked 'Experian" oops. That is the one account that I have that has my husbands charge off on it. I am the AU and it is in dispute to be removed. I will not know until the 12th. I bet they will decline me anyway for that.
Diane, Call 1-800-345-8089 and ask for 7.9% fixed APR. You will get it. They will give you better BT rate as well. You can call that number 24/7.
Well I tryed but..... Apparently Toy R Us is different than the bank card. The girl from chase was super nice and told me I should apply for the bank card not affiliated with Toys because she could get me 0%. But she also said the rate on my card was higher because of the award perks. So I called the 800 for the actual Toys card and got the sales pitch aboout how it would actually be worth it for me to transfer a balance from a 9.74% card to a 9.90% card because the rate on the Toys card is not variable. Hmmm Looks like I will paying this card off every month. Probably a good motivator. I suspect after a period of time I will qualify for more perks. If not I will just get rid of it for another lower rate card.
Well I did not know that about affiliated card. I am sure they can lower your rate if it's only their Chase bank card. Sorry about that. You should apply for their Chase Platinum !!!
Thats Ok Plat I am still having a Super de dupper day. Sorry had to do that annoying Barney thing. Its a mom thang.
Diane, I am sure you and your family will enjoy that one too, especially when it comes to reward perks.
