My letter to Sherman beginning of April regarding violations of 524(a)(2), 605(c)(1) and 807(8) has worked its magic. I received a $3000 check yesterday from them plus deletion on all 3 CRAs! Thanks VERY much to all who helped me with this on the boards!

Which violations are these? I'd be interested to hear your history with them.
In my case they have yet to validate after 2 CRRR letters, yet to verify the dispute and are listing an account charged off in 1999 as Oct. 2002. As of this week, they just updated the balance as well with no contact with me.
    I'd like to get them.

Did you actually file suit or just send an intent to sue letter? I am right on the verge of getting ready to sue them for repeatedly sending collection agencies after me despite me disputing the account's validity.

All I did was send a demand letter outlining the six violations (3 each on Eq and Ex) and the COO called me within a day of receiving the certified letter. I initally demanded $5k (I forgot about one violation) and settled with them for $3k and deletion. The violations were buying the debt after discharge, re-aging the account, and inserting the negative tradelines.

I had the same thing happen with Sherman. They re-aged and reported. I have already disputed and it was removed. Can you give some more details.

What address did you send to. I having trouble locating this them.

Did you send it to their registered agent or to the executive offices?

Also, can you post or e-mail the letter to me?

    Thanks and Congrats!

Phantom - did a search on "reaging" I came upon this link. Did you start with CRA disputes first, or did you go straight to OC?

Yes, I disputed with the CRAs first and once the item was verified it gave me that much more ammunition to go after Sherman with (because Sherman verified the erroneous trade line.) You should go the CRA route first for just that reason, IMHO. Good luck!
