Hey, I'm helping my mom clean up her Credit Reports, I'm starting with Trans Union, there's alot of work on these reports to clean up, I disputed the bankruptcy becasue it is dated wrong, it should have came off her report already, Equifax and Experian already deleted automatic. Trans Union is being a fart, We received a letter asking for Bankruptcy Discharge Papers. Should we send in these papers or No???

This item should have came off already. If we do not send the papers in, will the investigation continue???

    Thanks Everyone!!!!

As far as what I gather from the pros here...DONOT send in ANYTHING to them. Sending them more information will extend their time. Whatever you send might be used against you.

    Thanks,

Are they going to PAY YOU for doing the investigation for them???

In this instance, what would it hurt to send the bk papers if the bk should come off? Any chargeoffs or collection accounts associated with the bk should have fallen off long ago. Sending a copy of the discharge ought to speed things up.

If the BK was already supposed to have come off (7 years from filing for discharged C13s, 10 years from filing for all others), then I'd send the papers today.

The biggest reason not to send the papers is to give yourself the chance to dispute the BK off of the CR well prior to its normal expiration date. This BK already expired!

The other reason is to play games in the hopes that they'll screw up and you can win a few grand from them. So send them the papers and hope they screw up. Once they have the actual paperwork in hand, they can hardly claim ignorance.

Send them. Then keep checking the CR to make sure they got it right.
