    Hi everyone,

In my on going battle to remove a 1993 charge off from hubby and my reports, I finally come to Trans Union for dispute. My husband's report comes back with a state tax lien, a surpressed?? sears account and on hard inquires - I think just about every collection company in the US has received a copy of his report. All not his and all being disputed.

After requesting a copy of my report, I receive a letter from Trans Union stating that they are "unable to locate my report." I finally get through by phone on Friday and the rep informs me my report is listed under a different SS number and they need a copy of card to send me a copy of my report.

Has Trans Union done away with trying to maintain any accuracy for credit reports? Do they check SS# with names? Has anyone had any similair problem with locating their report?

It is my not so humble opinion that if a credit bureau employee had enough brain power to get simple file handling tasks accomplished correctly then they would have gotten themselves a decent job in the first place. But since they apparently don't then the best way to deal with them is to always send a photostatic copy of one's social and proof of address with every communication with a credit bureau. That can eaily be accomplished using only two simple to prepare sheets of paper. One should contain 200% blowups of one's social security card and driver's license and a properly prepared letter which gives undeniable proof of place of residency. Doing it that way saves much time and costs of sending them the information they will be likely to come back wanting anyway. Equifax seems to be the worst in using that tactic to stall for more time.

Done away with it? I never assumed that they ever had any in the first place.
I don't think they have the mental capacity to perform such tasks in the first place. That's just one of the many reasons I never fool with them in the first place.
    Probably.

That is quite true, Mr Brown, but if they haven't got brains enough or are too lazy to look up the file in the first place then how on earth would one expect them to realize that fact either?

The problem is that de feets has got to go over de fence before de tails and so finding the file in the first place is apparently a hurclean task just to start off with. Why add more details just to confuse the issue for them?
