Still haven't gotten my results from Trans Union, I sent via Certified Return Receipt Mail, January 12, 2003, but they sign for it on Jan 16, 2003. Has this happen to anyone? will i ever hear about my dispute?? send again? I know the 16 was, Sunday, I was hoping to get my results on friday the 14 of February. =( Please advice anyone! =( All I ever got was a List of all my creditors, and a letter asking if I was satisfied with Credit Repair company, this was 6 days after i sent my dispute. A consumer reporting agency shall provide written notice to a consumer of the results of a reinvestigation under this subsection not later than 5 business days after the completion of the reinvestigation, by mail or, if authorized by the consumer for that purpose, by other means available to the agency. Mine was disputed Jan 18 online w/ TU. I checked my report online today no change. Guess I will TRY to wait patiently for the results. Only thing I got was a letter on Jan. 24 requesting a copy of my bk paperwork (disputed one item as being incl. in bk) I ignored the letter. Fingers crossed!!
Sounds like it is still under investigation. They actually have 30+5 days to complete it and get you your results out. I'd also add a few days for the mail. Hopefully they failed to comply in time and you have them on a violation. Some would say that now is the time to call and raise a big stink, but personally I think you should let them take as much time as they like because the longer they take, the worse the violation will appear in the eyes of a judge. Also, if you start threatening them there's a good chance they will simply verify everything before they complete their investigation. Time is on your side, not theirs. Relax and wait.

Procedure in case of disputed accuracy [15 U.S.C. § 1681i] (a) Reinvestigations of disputed information. (1) Reinvestigation required. (A) In general. If the completeness or accuracy of any item of information contained in a consumer's file at a consumer reporting agency is disputed by the consumer and the consumer notifies the agency directly of such dispute, the agency shall reinvestigate free of charge and record the current status of the disputed information, or delete the item from the file in accordance with paragraph (5), before the end of the 30-day period beginning on the date on which the agency receives the notice of the dispute from the consumer. I got a removal from EQ based on this...they tried to say they have 35 days but they do not...their interpretation of the FCRA is inaccurate!

They must notify the reporter of the info of the dispute within 5 days of their receipt of the dispute. This is included in the 30 day period. The investigation must be done by the 30th day. They then have 5 days to notify the consumer of the results.
