Ok, so I got my Trans Union Report in the mail today and my score is 517 which is probably not good. Anyways, I'm looking over it and see the cards that I was late on in the past and was wondering how I could get these bad marks taken off. Here is the brake down on the 3 bad marks I have:

Card 1:Status as of 09/2001: 60 days past due.
In prior 24 months from date closed 2 times 30 days late.
Maximum Delinquency of 60 days occured in 09/2001

Card 2:Status as of 01/2002: 60 days past due
In prior 11 months from last update 1 time 60 days, 2 times 30 days late
Maximum delinquency of 60 days occured in 10/2001

Card 3:In prior 8 months from last update 1 time 30 days late

So, what do you guys think I can do? Thanks for any help.

Do I just fill out the sheet that came with the papers? After I dispute it what should I do?

If you had a circumstance surrounding the lates, you could try to send the Goodwill letter. It is a letter that was composed by PsychDoc.

You can search here for the "goodwill letter" and it may come up. I don't know how to do links to the post. Try looking under my name under the post "PsychDoc - you da man" and there is a link to the original letter.

It worked for me and got some 30 and 60 day lates removed.

I used their own form. It's pretty easy to fill out. Or go online and dispute. It walks you right through it.

If at first you don't succeed, try and try again. Spacing them out of course.

    good luck.

How will I get it taken off by saying that I was never late?

Read the posts here before you get started. Your questions have been answered already in many posts.

I studied the board for about a month before I ever got started disputing.

When you dispute with TU as "never late", they will open up an investigation. Essentially they are supposed to contact the creditor and see if you were indeed late, sometimes the creditor will not respond, and TU will just delete the lates, sometimes the creditor will verify you were late, or you may even get a creditor who responds and says you weren't late.

Since you have a transunion report you can dispute them on-line.

    http://www.transunion.com/personal/DisputeOnline.asp

Go to this link (If the link doesn't work then go to www.transunion.com, click personal solutions, then dispute). Dispute the info on-line. Claim "never late" - when they ask for a report number use the number on the top right hand side of the page.

Once they verify the item is in dispute, print out the page, then write down the day the dispute should be resolved.

I'd also check www.creditexpert.com for Experian. You can also dispute on-line there as well; not too sure about Equifax...

I was also wondering, does having 12 inquiries into my credit report within a year affect my score a lot? How can I get them taken off? Thanks.

All inquiries hurt! Especially if there's more than 2 in 6 months, and 3 in a year.

How do you fight it?? You dispute them on-line as "No knowledge of inquiry". However, if an account was opened shortly afterwards you may not have much luck...

I don't recommend disputing inquiries on accounts that are open. In both cases State farm and AMEX called me at work questioning why I did this. They both stated they suspect fraud when this happens. I made up a story and told them somehow EX did this without my knowledge, etc. they bought the BS and left me alone. Whew!

I didn't dispute any accounts that are open. I only disputed the accounts that I was denied for and the ones that dealerships made when I was looking for a car.
