Hey everyone! I have several account that are on my TU report in dispute that belong to my dad, we both have same first and last name etc, It's around the 12 day today of my dispute and still no results yet, I sent my dispute via Certified Return Reciept Mail, today I get mail and I see two letters from Trans Union wooopiiii, yea right, it's not even my results yet =( The first letter is a ENTIRE list of all my creditors and their address's ?? what the heck is this? I didn't ask for this, and then the second letter, the entire front of the second letter is blank, I turn to the back and it say's, Name of Credit Repair Company_______ Contact Person's Name_______ Contact Person's Telephone #________ Address of Credit Repair Company________ Amount you were charged__________ What you were promised__________ Complaint___________ Why would they be so stupit to ask this, I'm not using no Credit Reporting Agency duhhh. Is this suppose to be my Results of my disputed accounts on investigation? LOL if it is Trans Union has the dumbest employees on EARTH!!!!!! PLEASE HELP ANYONE!!!!
Nah, bunch of us received them during CHOD. File 13 the credit repair thing, the addresses may come in handy, and if you are like everyone else, your dispute is still in process.
Exotic, this is weird, DH has the same problem with TU- his dad has same first and last name too and the report is completely jumbled with both their items- incliding 13 hard inq! Please post when you find out your results as I am not quite ready for my disputes yet and would like some updates. What did you send in dipute, just a not mine or these are my fathers I believe type letter? Thanks

I think TU is trying to weed out the less intelligent people who are using some kind of credit repair company so they can find violations and put them out of business. If the CRA's didn't have bad things to publish about us, they wouldn't be able to make any money. ChrisB

A little over two weeks later my dispute came back verified and had the wrong information. The account is now saying Settled; Paid Less than Full Balance. Heck, I paid the full balance. I never settled. So, I sent them a Procedure Request letter. They received it in March 4, 2003. Today, I received the following letter from them. ----------------------------- The federal Fair Credit Reporting Act requires Trans Union to investigate, free of charge, information on your credit report that you believe is inaccurate. If you have reason to believe that the fee charged by a credit repair company was too high, and/or its services were misrepresented, please let us know if you would like your situation to be referred for investigation by filling out and sending us the form below. With your permission, we will provide the information you send to the appropriate authorities. It would also be helpful for you to attach any brochures or documents you received from the credit repair company. ----------------------------- I was very upset, so I called Trans Union. They told me that the letter was for my information only and not to accuse me of using a credit repair company in any form. The guy I talked to also said that there is an investigation OPEN for the account I disputed. WHAT THE!!!!! I have not requested for a re-investigation how come they are re-investigating? They said they verified the account already. Then, the guy asked if I want him to send me the procedure details that I originally asked for. I said NO because they are already in violation (past 15 days) and didn't want to give them chance to make it up. My questions are: 1) What the heck do I do with this letter? Is this a violation? 2) I have not received my procedure details, and this is another violation right? 3) What's the next step? Sue their butts? THANKS ALL!
