    WASH MUTUAL/PROVIDIAN
CREDIT CARD ACCOUNT TRANSFERRED OR SOLD TO ANOTHER OFFICE/LENDER
    Date Opened: 04/1998
    Balance Date: 11/2005
    Balance Amount: $0
    Monthly Payment: $0
    High/Limit: $5,200
    Account Status: (Experian) As Agreed
    (Equifax) As Agreed
    (Transunion) Collection
    Past Due Amount: $0

Question... Since this was transferred or sold to another office/lender why is it still on my credit record? The new lender is on my record so why is the old one still there? Is there anyway to remove the above old one? Does it hurt my credit score? Why under transunion does it say collection instead of "As agreed" like the other ones?

    Thanks...

Transferred, but paid as agreed, would not be negative.

Was it a collection account? If not, then the TU item is erroneous, and negative. You would want to dispute it and get it corrected.

If it was transferred, it would normally show a $0 balance under the old account. The old account would not be removed. The new lender would show the current balance, under the new account.

    Who is the new lender?

    They are a debt collector.

    Is the account delinquent?

Transferred/sold is unrated as far as FICO goes, but would still be considered negative if a manual review is done.

can a delete be acomplished by requesting
"No longer owns debt/contract, does not have a right to report"

In other words, no contract no collection activity, or reporting?

No, they can legally report as long as the information is correct.
