I have a monthly account with Transunion. I can pull up a new report every day if I want. 4 days ago Transunion deleted my old addresses which I asked to be done. Yesterday Transunion started a brand new look for their credit reports. My account summary says I have 2 collections, which is correct. However, when I try to pull up the collections there is NO RECORD AT ALL of these collections. Again they show 2 collections in my account summary but nothing when you try and view the collections. Since I can't pull up the specifics of the collections wouldn't that be a illegal ? Should I send them a dispute letter ? If I do that can they manual go back in and add the collections ? I don't know if the collections disappeared because of my old addresses being deleted or because they have a new format for pulling credit reports. Any help would be appreciated.
The collection accounts wouldn't disappear based on the deletion of old addresses alone. And if they are showing on the summary sheet it sounds as though they're still somewhere. Section 609 of the FCRA talks about disclosures to consumers. And no, the CRA cannot withhold the collection account info from you if in fact they do appear in your file.
IF it was me, I would send a letter stating that you are looking at your report of date, and are being blocked from being able to obtain information on the tradelines which are identified by ___________. Please provide the information for those tradelines, and prevent me from being blocked from said information in my credit file, immediately.
I wanted to give you guys an update on my account with Transunion. On 5/15/13 when I tried to sign into my account to see my credit report, I got a message that said service error, call Transunion. So I called them the same day. I was asked by the CSR if I was using Google Chrome to pull up my report. I said no I am using Internet Explorer. She said with the new format that they just started my report would NOT pull up unless I used Chrome. WTH So I downloaded Chrome while she was still on the phone. Guess what ? I still could NOT pull a report. surprise surprise. She would fill out a repair ticket to fix. I asked when she thought it would be resolved ? No idea she said, we have thousands of customers having the same problem. I am thinking, why did I download Google Chrome then ? But she did say she can see the 2 small medical collections and she gave me the info. I said if you can see them, why can't I ? She didn't know. Today, 5/17/13 I can get in and see my report. Everything looks good EXCEPT I still can NOT pull up the collections. So we are back to square one. I will wait a few days to see what happens. Thanks guys for your help.
Mindcrime, you are right. I was going to do this the other day but after downloading Google Chrome and it didn't resolve the problem, I just wanted to get off the phone. I am going to give Transunion until Monday and if not fixed will call and talk about refund.
I am really get ticked off !! Transunion still does NOT have this problem fixed. I can see my personal information but it still won't show me the 2 collections, just a blank page. I called to see about getting a refund. I told them that this is crazy because I am paying for service so I can see my entire credit history, not just my personal page. The bozo CSR told me I would be getting "some" credit do to this problem. I asked how much ? He didn't know. I think that these 2 collections should be deleted from my credit file at Transunion. Enough is enough.
