Equifax has igonored all letters I have sent about having inquires removed. Transunion has been more agreeable, I got a letter on Saturday and 7 more have been deleted, 5 last month. I had no idea what I was doing, getting a little smarter now with my letters, but it has been fairly easy. I had about 20 from the same company who ran my credit through every company in the United States. I don't know if it will raise my FICO much, but it feels good.
I really don't think there is any rhyme or reason to any CRA! I got a letter last week from TU stating that they don't verify inquiries and that I have to take it up with the creditor (half of whom I don't even have the slightest idea where I would even reach them). So, naturally, I sent them a letter telling them that they have to verify according to the FCRA. I think it all depends on the representative who gets the letters. Some are more willing than others, no matter which CRA. If TU sends me another notice like the last one, I will be filing a law suit. I am tired of them trampling over me like they don't have to uphold any portion of the law. They like to make their own laws.
I just said in my letter that these inquires were not authourized by me, they were hurting my credit and the FCRA section 610 (a) allows me to dispute ANY item on my report which may be incorrect. It has worked well so far, I had over 30 inquires on each report.
Heather, Was there a fraud alert on your TU file at the time they removed the inquiries? Thanks. Saar
