It said thanks for contacting us, we received a dispute regarding your credit report from a credit repair agency. our experiance shows that credit repair agencies routinely and knowingly dispute accurate information, for this reason, we will not take action on tehdispute submitted from teh credit repair agency. WTF I am the one that sent them the letter not a CRA. It gave me a page to fill out so I can put down what I want to dispute. Has this happen to anyone else???? Thanks
Dad, There's a letter out front in the sample section addressing this. Or just ignore it. They send it to everyone. Whether or not you use a CRO doesn't have anything to do with your right to dispute. Sassy
I'll tell you what to write. To Transunion Thanks for contacting me, I received a letter regarding my intelligence. Are you saying that I don't have the brains to write that letter? If this is the case I am not a moron. I can read and write like everyone else. I know my civil rights. You are breaking the law by ignoring my dispute. Whoever reading this letter overthere , send it to your legal department. You have been warned. Or something along those lines
If you ask me that a pure outright violation of the FCRA that all three CRA's violate each and every day that they do business to all of the consumers that request investigations and the sad fact is that some 7 dollar and hour clerk is making these decisions for the CRA's
They gave you a page to fill out the way they want to see it that is all. They understand better when it is done that way thats all. Fill it out the way they understand it the first time. They are just doing their jobs knowing what they know and how to deal with it. Play their game at first and take additional actions later. But don't include any information that would hurt you. I should have thought of that before I submitted here.
No, don't send them anything back. If you do, they'll consider it additional information and extend the time to investigate your dispute by 15 days.
Re: Re: Transunion sent me a letter today I did fill it out and explain it in my letter and put all the info they need. Thats BS They are accusing me of using a credit repair co. and I am not.
Re: Re: Transunion sent me a letter today Absolutely NOT!!! Send them back a pleasent letter reminding them that your dispute was in perfect order and that their time frame for reinvestigation began on the day they received it. Keep it very simple and be firm but not unfriendly. I assume your original dispute was sent CRRR. I'd include copies of the dispute letter AND the return card showing when they received it. Your attitude is "Times a wastin folks. You now have 10 days to complete or delete". If they chose to obfuscate their responsibility by sending you their delay tactic that's not your problem. 30 days or delete - END OF STORY. But it's not time to say so yet. They will probably send back a letter saying they need 15 more days. Then ya file suit in small claims. As soon as they get served they should delete. Works almost every time.
Re: Re: Transunion sent me a letter today Sorry about that I thought maybe you did use a credit repair thing. If you did not than leave it alone. Or at least send it back with the same information so they "understand how to do their jobs". Butch is 100% right!!! Leave it alone.

Re: Re: Transunion sent me a letter today so if I do not send them anything what do I do wait until the 30 days then what?????
Re: Re: Transunion sent me a letter today Wondering what ever happened with this? Did you send a response to the letter? If Butch reads this: your response sounded great, but wondering if there's a downside to not responding at all. I'm thinking that even a good letter like yours will get them off their butts and validate, whereas if you don't respond they may not. Any thoughts?
Re: Re: Transunion sent me a letter today The CRA's are not stupid. They keep seeing the same letters written in exactly the same way. People don't personalize letters they just grab a standard validation letter and send it. Why not just dispute online using each CRA's online form? Wouldn't that be easier? Another thought is they could be cracking down on people trying to dispute accurate information especially if you've done it previously. They are not going to delete accurate information unless you're close to your 7 year limit. *Please note that I said accurate information*
Re: Re: Transunion sent me a letter today I also received that VERY SAME LETTER. From what I remembered reading, if I was to respond to that letter, that WOULD give them ANOTHER 15 days. I, in turn, did not send them anything. Today I received a response saying my dispute was frivolous. Thay did send me name, address, account #, and tele. #. Upon further review, I looked up the CA name and the CA address that was sent by TU, and I could NOT find any record of such a company. I then proceeded to look at TU reports from a month ago, and there was a CA listed with the SAME address for the new name?? Also noted on the new report that came with the letter, it states that the last time this TL was updated was 1998 and 2001?
Re: Re: Re: Transunion sent me a letter today Actually, just in case a newcomer reads this and becomes confused -- validation letters are never sent to CRAs. Rather, validation letters are sent to CAs. On the other hand, dispute letters are sent to CRAs. That said, I like SoParkDiva's central message -- customize wherever and whenever possible! But consumer beware: Even if you send completely customized letters to Trans Union, they're set up to send their credit repair accusation letter to anybody who disputes more than a certain number of items during a set period of time. I can't fill in the numeric blanks, but I can tell you that lots of us have received that letter -- especially from TU. The best strategy is to immediately send it back with a second note saying, "No, I'm not using a credit repair company, so please look into the problem tradeline for me! Thanks!" Basically, the best approach is to quickly deny and redispute -- or, in other words, what Butch said. Remember this: It's not against the law to even use a credit repair company, so even if the accusatory letter from TU was correct, they are still obligated to investigate. Basically this is just another unethical stalling tactic used by CRAs to thwart those consumers who are trying to effect credit repair. Doc
Re: Re: Re: Transunion sent me a letter today The question that I had was... What basis does TU have sending me a CA name that is linked to anther CA name? And also, the updated date has NOT changed since 1998 and 2001?
Re: Re: Re: Transunion sent me a letter today Basically this is just another unethical stalling tactic used by CRAs to thwart those consumers who are trying to effect credit repair. Doc ============= So why are the CRAs so desperate to hang onto false information on reports? THE END ** *** ** LB 59 """""""""```~~~```'""""""""" It don't take a very big person to carry a grudge.
Re: Re: Re: Transunion sent me a letter today i received one of those letters off my first dispute EVER. so it doesn't necessarily only come after multiple disputes. it really does seem like a "stall" tactic.
