I hope someone here can help me. I need to get in touch with someone who has some authority at Transunion. They have been nothing but a pain in the a$$ since I began this journey. For example, I disputed a 90-day late with them (on 6/14/2002) on a student loan that had been rehabilitated almost 3 years ago and they deleted the account. Now EQ and EX have had no problems updating the account so that it is correct but TU claims that they never received their update b-4 the 30-day dispute period was over. I have spoken with the Department of Education (DOE) regarding this account and they told me that they responded to TUs request on 7/2/2002. So of course after all of this, I try to get the account placed back on my credit report and they say that they can not do it unless the DOE sends them an update. Well, I tell the DOE about this and they send an update in August. I call back to TU and someone else tells me that they can not put anything back on my credit report unless the DOE fills out a new request for reinsertion. I go thru to finally speak to a supervisor about this problem and she says that I need to fax her a letter telling TU that I would like reinsertion as well as an update from the DOE. I did as she requested. I sent the letter stating that I would like reinsertion without the negative notations on the account. I also received a letter from the DOE stating that they had asked all of the CRAs to update this account with no negatives. I also faxed this information to her. Now get this, I get my updated report from TU this afternoon and the account is listed back on the report, with the negatives and the new payment terms (I have a variable interest rate which adjusts around July/August of every year)! Now, if they did not receive the DOEs update, then how could they have known about the change in payment terms? Can anyone help me, please, I am desperate!! Thanks in advance, A

(This is the only addrs in IL) TRANSUNION Address: 555 W ADAMS ST City: CHICAGO, IL 60661-3631 Phone: (312) 382-1553 You will get action now because the higher ups will know the people below them arent doing their jobs when they get your letter. Be sure to write at least 2 of them individually and independent of the other. Someone will be working on your complaint! Good luck to you!
Jascy, Thank you so much for your response. I will definitely give it a try and will let the board know what happens. A
I wrote to H. Gambill when I was disputing. After 3 weeks, Don Richman responded saying don't write to Gambill. So, I suggest not writing to those people. Do a search here for Don Richman. He is the head of Consumer Relations or similar. He can handle your problems.
Oh that's interesting too. If I weren't doing my job I wouldn't want you to write to the boss either. All the more reason to write to Gambill if ya ask me. Come to think of it - write directly to Gambill and copy Richman. LOLOLOL
I agree. If you want Don Richman to actually help you, then don't cc: H. Gambill. I did this and he all of a sudden could not help me any more, but prior to doing this Don(TU) deleted 4 derogs. jus my $0.02
I had the same problem. I had a horrible FNBM Card with all sorts of lates. I worked out everything with FNBM and the updated my data. TU did not update, so I disputed. TU deleted. I called and wrote (even Don Richman) to get this reinserted. They refuse. I had a GOOD mortgage tradeline. I disputed the status. It said it was open and that I still owed $73,000. The mortgage was assumed by a new buyer. TU deleted this as well. They refuse to reinsert. I lost ALL my good tradelines. All I have on TU is 1 car loan (3 months old), 2 CCs (4 months old); 3 unpaid coll/1 pd coll/2BK so you can imagine what the loss of old accounts cost me!!! Don Richman was no help to me.
Thank you for all of your input. I did do a search for Don Richman on this site and couldn't find it. However, on Monday, I spoke with a supervisor at TU who said that it had already been updated to a positive status. When I received the mail that afternoon, the TL from the DOE was on TUs CR (in a positive status that is!). Now I have another problem though. I had previously disputed an account with Cavalry Investments. It had been deleted from 2 of the CRAs by early june and the last one by July. In the interim, they (the CA) sent me a collection letter and in reponse, I sent them a debt validation letter on 8/16/02. They received the letter on 8/19/02. On 9/19/02, I received a letter from them stating "This letter confirms that the above referenced account has been closed. If applicable, Cavalry Investments, LLC will notify the credit bureaus to delete our tradeline from your credit profile. If you have any questions or concerns please contact me toll-free at xxx-xxx-xxxx." But on EX and TU their TL states "Special handling - contact subscriber for additional information". What the heck does that mean? I don't know if the account was placed back onto the CRs BEFORE they received the DV letter and they plan to delete the TL or if they plan to keep it on the CRs as it is written. I think that it will be removed from TU as I faxed the letter to the same person that fixed the Student Loan account. However, when I spoke with someone at EX (CSR), he stated that b/c it is not on letterhead, nor is it signed by the company, they would not accept it as proof that the account is closed and should be deleted. He also stated that the the words "if applicable" was left up to interpretation and is vague so they definitely would not delete based on the letter. What should I do? Should I call the CA or what 30 days and see if it is deleted? At this point the account has been reaged and the CRAs have not given me the 5-day notice for reinsertion. Any help would be appreciated in this matter, Thanks, A
bump Does anyone have any ideas on what is the best course of action for this case? Thanks in advance, A
What I would do is call Cavalry and tell them they sent you the letter but the cra won't accept it as they need it on letterhead with a signature and ask them to send you another one. When you get it, fax it to them again.
