I just received today a letter from TransUnion which is supposed to be their procedure letter telling me how they investigated my dispute. The problem I have is that it is a general letter stating they verified the dispute by either phone or mail??? They then give me a couple of pages listing address's and phone numbers of all listings on my credit report. This does not answer my question or provide the procedure used to investigate my dispute! It also states that the verification letter or document is entered into a computer and they do not keep them, therefore they are not available. It also states if I have a problem with the verification to contact the creditor directly??? What the heck is this garbage?? I think under the FCRA this is not a complete description of the procedures used to investigate my dispute. I mean it doesn't list say...... Creditor XXXXX was contacted on 05/20/2002 via mail and they returned our correspondence and verification on 06/20/2002. The address we sent our request for verification is XXXXX the person who verified is XXXXX their telephone number is XXXXX, these are the questions we asked of the creditor, XXXXXX, our procedures for verifying this were XXXXX This to me would be an answer to my request for procedures. Anyone else have this problem with TU or any of the other CRA's. I can't wait to hear back from Experian and Equifax about their procedures. My procedure letter to TU basically is a waste of time and money. What have others done?? thanks! Tac
Well... you can include it in a lawsuit of violations. The FCRA requirement is so weak (just a description of how it was verified... not evidence that it was verified). and they can't even adhere to that. They have gotten to where they disgust me now.
So I guess they do not have the ability to print from their computer? Maybe their dot matrix printers finally broke.
I got this same thing from them. I thought someone here said they sent a letter with the name of the person with whom they'd spoken?
