I just visited the TransUnion website, www.transunion.com and read about the "consumer credit score" that will be provided with each credit history before the end of the year (translation, it will available on December 31,200). This is great, and no doubt Experian and Equifax will feel competitive pressures to do something along these lines. I also noticed that TransUnion has increased the cost of the report by 50 cents to $8.50. What remains to be seen is if this TransUnion "consumer credit score" has any relevance or any correlation with the more prestigious and widely used FICO scoring system.
