I have horrible personal credit, form being unemployed. I am trying to fix it but I can't get it clean in a month and I am going toEurope next month. I need a creditcard I can take with me. Even a brockerage card where you get a card when you open an account, anything but a check card, or something that doesn't say check card on it. I do have lots of cash so I could put 2-5K in an account if necessary, if I can draw on it immediately. I have a Computer Consulting business that is making good money over 70K a year but its not incorporated, so I can't get business credit without a personal guarantee, and with my credit my guarantee doesn't mean anything. If there is a business card I can get or some other kind of card I would appreciate any suggestions.
Just get a secured card. I used a Capital One to rebuild my credit, it was reasonable. A lot of other people swear by Bank Of America secured card. Just find an issuer who you haven't ever done business with and sign up. A month should be enough time to get your deposit in and a card printed. PS - watch out if you have unpaid judgements. When you get the secured card they still run your reports and sometimes they update the bureau's with new phone no.s, addresses and employers. So if you are actively avoiding creditors, this could trigger new and vigorous activity on thier part.
