I don't have one, but I found the info for it. The info was last updated on 7/14/2006, and alls I did was plug da name into google. ============= The Tribute® MasterCard® Gold Card, issued by First Bank of Delaware, is designed for those who would like the opportunity to build or rebuild their credit and only require the basic functions of a credit card. The card offers high interest rates, and all of the variable interest rates have minimum caps. This simply means that no matter how low the Prime Rate drops, the interest rates on the account will not go below the stated minimum caps. In addition, the APRs for all transactions are tied to the highest Prime Rate during a 90-day period. Therefore, due to this policy, the APRs may never reach the lowest possible interest rates. The annual fee applied to new accounts is $150. There is also an account opening fee of $29 and a monthly maintenance fee of $6.50, which amounts to $78 per year. The total amount of standard fees (not including penalty or default fees) is $257 for the first year. However, this card does report to the credit bureaus as an unsecured credit card, so cardholders will have the opportunity to build or rebuild their credit. Therefore, those who can afford to pay in full each month (to avoid high finance charges), do not mind paying the various fees associated with the card, and have a limited credit history will benefit most from the Tribute® MasterCard® Gold Card. Most Attractive Feature: No security deposit required; reports to credit bureaus. Least Attractive Feature: Minimum APR caps for all transactions; annual fee; monthly maintenance fee. Tribute Mastercard I received an offer from them these are the terms. $150.00 Participation fee $29.00 Annual Fee no interest on purchase or cash advance for one year after the twelveth month the interest rate would be 9.9% What do you think?
You already know the card is sub-prime, and the terms reflect it. If they are targetting this market, is there any path to a card on better terms, no fees, moderate rate? In other words, what is your next step, and what would this do to get you there, compared to alternatives? I would look at secured cards, and in particular, secured cards thru credit unions, first.
I have a Tribute MasterCard with no annual fees, no participation fees, no maintenance fees. Initial credit limit of $1750. They are trying to move up out of the deep subprime market to what I'd call the "nearly prime" market. No issues with them, but I've only had the card for two months. ETA: hella bad interest rate at 29.5%, though, but that just makes it a PIF card. Still better than my Chase card.
Love Tribute! My credit was damaged when I was younger, and I've been trying to rebuild it. One thing I did, and I am extremely glad I did so was to get the Tribute card. My credit limit started out low, of course, close to what's considered "sub-prime" rate. However, it's now close to $1000 which is fantastic. It's helped me immensely and I cannot thank the company enough for helping me rebuild. I keep the balance low, and pay it as I should. The other companies that I've used were Orchard Bank, Salute, and Premier. They've all raised my limits, and have lowered my APR per my on time payments. My credit score is now going up, and I plan to keep it that way! In another year, my score should be higher (I've worked on either paying off bills & disputing inaccurate items) and I hope to NEVER go back to where it was before. It's hard, but I've learned over time that you credit is extremely important, even if we don't want it to be.
