Troubles with the green card

End of 12/01 I send a valdation CRRR. Mid January I get a letter back from the CA with a bill that doesn't come close to validating. On Jan 22 I go to PO and request duplicate service request (because I've never received the green card back), which from what I understand, the duplicate service request will send me a copy of proof of signature. It is now 15 postal working days later (from second request, 33 total postal working days since ltr originally sent), still nothing, not the original green card, not the duplicate request. And to top things off, the CA I sent it to is local. I'm ready to send estoppel. Anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with the post offices incompetence?

I have started sending alot of my mail priority mail with delivery confirmation. It doesn't have to be signed and the postal worker does not have to do anything except scan the letter when it is delivered.

That also happened with me and I asked for a refund and I got all of my money back. It was for 2 letters $10. I sent another letter CRRR and I have yet to get anything back on it so I also asked for duplicate service. The clerk couldn't even tell me how long it would take to get back. I forget how long it's been but if it's only 15 days then I am going ask for a refund again. I got copies of the statements so I know the creditor received it.

I am going to go to a difference post office because I told the clerk that I know they received the mail but I have no proof. She said she can refund the return receipt charge but not the certified mail.

If I were to send validations/estoppels via delivery confirmation, instead of CRRR, would that hold up in court (if I had to take it that far) as good as a signature from CRRR would have?

Update: Got a form back from the PO today. It basically says they have no record of delivery to the CA that I sent my validation to. Nice. I expect to be reimbursed for their failed services. Guess I'll have to rely on delivery confirmation.

I don't know if delivery confirmation will stand up in court but it confirmed it was delivered to address filled out on the green receipt.

You can get signature confirmation along with delivery confirmation and priority mail. It increases the cost. I think they keep the signature on file and then you can get a fax copy of the signature or they email it to you. I not sure which one it is, but check out the post office's website http://www.usps.com and it will give you all the info. you need.

Thanks for the info beta. I thought about adding signature confirmation with delivery confirmation, but why should I have to pay more for the PO's mistaken. I wonder why delivery confirmation wouldn't hold up in court. Just because someone didn't sign for it, doesn't mean they didn't get it, and you have the benefit of having the printout from usps.com that shows it was scanned and placed in the receipients mailbox.
