Here is my situation so far: Bankruptcy in 1995- Chapter 7 (discharged) Two judgements since then: 1. first one was from a health club membership that I ended up paying off. Disputed this with all three bureaus; TU deleted it, EQ put it after a dispute as being satisfied one month after it was filed even though I paid it off in 9/2001. EQ has it released as of 11/00, one month after it was filed. Still waiting on Experian. 2. second one was for a debt with a high interest finance company. The manager at this place filed a judgement against me out of meanness, after I threw him out of my house. The guy actually came to my house, got my 6 year old son to open the door, and the guy just walked in and sat at my couch liked he owned the place. I lost it and threw his ass out. Paid this off. EP never reported it, TU deleted it, and EQ did the same as #1. Experian score-574 before disputing Equifax score-530 before disputes Transunion score- 375 After first series of disputes: Equifax- released the 2 judgements, deleted 3 30 day lates, and deleted 1 collection account. Sent more disputes off(should be back by 1/22/02) Transunion- deleted both judgements, 1 30 day late Experian - pending Trying to buy a house before summer. Where can I expect my scores to be in late Jan. I don't want to pull my scores until I am satisfied with all three reports. I am a newbie, have been reading your posts and I am not certain all of my initial successes are in this post. Will update for accuracy. Also pulled my wife's reports and waiting for results on all three. Equifax reports her as having no BK on file. We filed BK joint. Go figure.
I filed CH7 in 1996 and I've seen two of my scores 675 and 680. The trick to increasing your scores with a bankrutpcy is that you have to get everything included in the bankrutpcy to reflect as such if you can't get it deleted. You now need to dispute, dispute, dispute. You could do three good rounds before summer.
Everything that was included in the bankruptcy is being shown as such; after some disputing proding on my part. However, I have noticed that on one of my reports, a creditor (Household Bank) is being shown on my report as being reconcilied by me. I have never done this on any debt from my bankruptcy, that would require going to court with the creditor. I put that in my dispute.
