24 months ago i had providain at a 1200.00 limit.I have been reading this board for 2 years and have been trying to push the limits, so far amex seems to be the only one that won't approve any more cards this year.I know you think I'm nuts but I am going to keep pushing.

I HAD ABOUT $200,000 LIKE YOU...but when F.I.C.O. reared it's UGLY head, and I couldn't get approved for anything...I cut down to under $100,000...

80% of these accounts were denied by a computer but after calling as many people that I had to , got them approved!

All right! FICO can be beaten if you give yourself enough time. One trick is not to have many balances close to the card limit . In fact, total debt as a percentage of total credit line should fall in the 18-20% range to make you a prime FICO candidate.
May I ask if you have something in your credit history that is an extremely old trade line? Like, a home mortgage with 10 or years of perfect payment. Also, is AMEX reporting both your balances and credit limit? Many thanks.

Amex only reports 4 of the accounts and no they have not said anything about my available credit. They only report the limit on the delta gold card.

Well it looks like FICO doesn't drop much with numerous cards.
