    11/14/03 online dispute with tu
Have print out of disputes, and their email confirming they recieved dispute.

12/17/03 called to check on disputes was told they needed proof of address
    I overnited the proof

01/08.04 called tu again to check diputes was told they had no record of me ever requesting a dispute, was told they could start one now. I said no

01/21/04 sent a demand for deletion letter based on their failure to investigate within 30 days
    now been 60 + days

01/26/04 tu signed for letter got green card back a few days later

02/02/04 called tu again to check status was told they do not have to delete anything, and if I want they could start an investigation, When I reminded them of the 30 day law they said it doent really apply it was just a guidle line and they wont do anything about it

    caN i SUE?

Hmmm, the law is only a guideline...

    Yeah, right...

The scary thing is that the majority of consumers would actually BELIEVE them when they say this.

File complaint with FTC and your AG that they claim they have no obligation to investigate within 30 days. The CRAs have been penalized and fined for not responding to calls on their 800 numbers fast enough, which actually is a "guideline".

So that means I don't have to stop at red lights and stop signs since the law is only a guideline.

How stupid can thes people get.?

Got a response back from the ftc about my compalint against tu. They said they cannot intervene on any disputes or problems with a cra. They said if I had a problem I should consult an attorney so much for the ftc being worth a crap

The FTC doesn't investigate individual complaints. Our goal with reporting to the FTC is that eventually they get enough complaints that they DO investigate.

Keep reporting each and every complaint.
