Tu verified a judgement on my report - deleted it off of my husbands. Do I send a procedural request (which they will never respond to), dispute it again or send them a letter stating they deleted if off my husbands report so take it off mine?

Neither, exactly. Look at your husband's report and try to find out what's different about your personal information. It may be that the judgment simply only mentions you by name, in which case it makes sense why they verified you but not him. If that's the case, you gotta go the long route to taking off the judgment.

If, however, the personal information on your husband's report is different from yours (i.e. dif. addresses) change your personal information to reflect what it says on his report and then dispute again.

They could add it to his instead.

I've read a lot about how you must first get rid of old addresses associated with old paid judgements to begin the deletion process. What grounds do we have to get old addresses deleted? Do I just call and say 'take off all old addresses but the current one'? and if the CRA says 'why?' what do i tell them?

To get rid of old addresses, I just sent a letter stating that this address is and never was mine. However, experian went one step further and deleted my current address.

LOL!!! Yes, I suppose they could! Guess I shouldn't go with that angle.

    klingsor,

I will have to compare our reports to see if there was any difference. I did that once before, but didn't notice anything - but there must have been something.

lbrown59 is correct. I would not recommend mentioning your husband's report. Examine the actual Judgment itself. Go to the courts and get a copy of it. The slightest error would mean it HAS to come off of your reports.

    breana,

did you both dispute it at the same time? If not, it is possible that the court simply responded to your request and not his.

What is more likely is that there are actual differences in the judgment itself. You wouldn't be able to tell this from a credit report, you'd have to get your hands on the actual entry at the courthouse. The case may only mention you by name or may only list your SSN.

Case in point: my father co-signed my student loans. By rule, they should be on his credit report as well. Yet he disputed them with all three CRAs and none of them came back verified. Why? Because the way my loans are listed they only list my name and my SSN -- and since neither of these matched they had to delete.

I didn't dispute them at the same time. Maybe I should have! However, they remain on his experian report. They seem to have both our names as I just looked at our equifax reports and mine lists my name - his lists his name. Guess I will have to get the actual copies from the court to really look them over.

You know what - they just disappeared off my report - don't know why! I checked privacy guard, than worthknowing. I didn't believe it - so I just went to myfico.com. The judgements are off! My score has gone from 509 last month to 573 today! Making progress!

So, were those addresses really not yours? or did you just lie? Can they find out if youre lying? Do they even try to verify old addresses? or do they just take your word for it? have i asked enough questions in one post? lol.

    Thanks.

I know from experience you can call Equifax and ask them to delete new/old addresses, alias', etc., and they will do it while you're on the phone. However, if you apply for new credit using your address (old or new) it will reappear on your report.

When you ask them to delete, are you giving them a reason? Are you saying they are incorrect or that they're not yours? or are you simply saying 'please delete these because they're old'?

Just say 'please delete'. They don't ask you for a reason. I found it surprisingly quick & easy. I even told the rep that and she laughed. =)
