My last derogatory trade line - Discover - has a Status date of April 1997 on Trans Union. Several months ago I sent a letter to them indicating that April 1997 plus 7 years is April 2004. Well... April 2004 has arrived and that trade line is still there. TU never replied to my letter threatening suit (see "Pre-Emptive ITS letter" thread). I have been calling them and getting the same mantra - my file is in "Special handling" and someone there will call me back. For 6 months they haven't. Saturday May 1, 2004 I run my TU report. If Discover is there, GUESS WHAT will happen..... I'll give you a hint - FCRA violation. Anyone have the phone number for TU's Special Handling area?
