Ok here is something that I have been doing and I started it last week, I was doing the 1 each a day but the bumapge for me was only 1 or 2 inquires, so I put together my own little trick and this is what I got and this what I do.

I pull 2 TU reports a day for both my husband and myself , 1 early in the morning and 1 at night and then I pull 1 worthknowing report a day, in the middle of the day. I even do this on Saturady and Sunday, it doesn't matter what time, I just make it a point to do it.

For me, my TU reports seems to update on Thursday nights so I see my results on Friday, and for this past week I got 9 deletions off of my report and 5 off my husbands report. NO SOFT's deleted, which is good I don't care about those anyway

What service are you using to pull the TU reports in the morning and afternoon?

What I mean to say, are you going through http://www.transunion.com/ and ordering a new $9.00 report online in the morning and another one in the evening? Does the $9.00 TU report that you order online pull a different report (soft inquiry) during the 6 day period you're allowed access to your report? Are you ordering your TU report through http://www.identityguard.com/? And lastly, how much does it cost for the http://www.worthknowingservice.com/ and can you pull unlimited reports with that service?

Lastly, how old were the hard inquiries that came off of your report?

    Hawg,

It doesn't cost $9.00 to order your TU report directly through TU if you have a hard inquiry on it. If you've been denied credit in the past 60 days, you can pull your report free.

If you don't have a hard inquiry then you obviously haven't been denied credit in the past 60 days so they don't let you get the report free.

How long am I able to access this credit report if I've been denied credit (vis-a-vis a TU credit report) in the past 60 days?

No, what I do is go through TU and order a report as if I was denied credit and as far as Worthknowing, I delete the profile after I am done that way i can pull it again as many times as I want.

You can go in and order as many reports as you want and you can put any name in there and I always use the current month and order as many reprots as I want.

They'll give you a password to access it for 7 days. But I don't think the report updates during that time. I think you're just accessing the same info.

As far as how long they'll let you get a new one, I don't know the answer to that question. I've never been denied one.

I am not accessing the same report, I am not using the password that is given, I am going in and getting new reports each and every time that I pull the report. You do not have to use the password that they give atleast I don't I go in and put all of the information in all over again so that I can access a new report.

I lost 9 the first week too, but not since. I lost one the next week, and none this week. I have 3 left (2 new since bumpage) I lose many softs too every week. I found if I pull either report more than once, you lose all the duplicate softs first. I cut down to just once a day since then. We'll see if I lose one next week. I'd stay w/ 2 hards, but I'm mad that I allowed myself to get 2 more hards, when I was almost done. I went from 12 to 1 to 3!

    Keisha,

I should have made it clear, I was responding to Hawg's question about how long the TU report could be accessed.

I wasn't referring in any way to what you were doing. You are the only one who could give those specifics. My post was a general one about how the TU system works overall. There are password accessed reports that don't update, and non password accessed reports that do.

Sorry if my lack of specificity in who I was responding to caused any confusion.

As someone else posted earlier this week, they are starting to wise up. They tried to get a new report based on being denied credit and they wouldn't allow it.

This is what happens when things are abused. Pretty soon, they won't allow any free reports online and then those who really need to get one, won't be able to. Obviously, you guys can do as you see fit. This is just my opinion.

    lkh,
My experience has been that they only don't allow you to get the free one if you don't have a recent enough inquiry on their report.
Incidently tu bumpage isn't working for me and I think it has to do with the fact I opted out. I think their program auto deletes everything that gets into the promo inquiry area.

I don't think that's what LKH is talking about. He's talking about how some of us (myself included I'm afraid) routinely get our TU report, when technically we are abusing the system. It is meant for people who legitimately need to get their reports for the first time, not every day use. Even though deep down I agree, I've become obsessed w/ checking every day. I'm not proud, just hooked.

Me too. I'm sorry but I will continue to pull every day since I only have one hard to go and my husband only has two left. I will stop after all hards are gone I promise!!

I posted on this same issue previously. I stated that I was pulling like a mad person because Sears pulled my report without my permission, and I was trying to get it off.

I posted that the more I pull, the faster my hards (within 45 - 60 days) are deleted.

Also, for the person that was unable to receive the report, this has happened to me randomly. I believe that it happens if you happen to "fat finger" your information.

You are on "punishment" for a week, but after that you are able to log in again.

I wish I could figure out how to get hards bumped.

TU has been terrible about not even investigating unauthorized hards, and as a result I have SEVERAL on my report. This is the ONLY reason I'm going for bumpage with them.

Are those who are sucessful getting reports sent snail mail, or are some of you having sucess simply with online bumpage?

    TIA, Dave

LKH, you are correct that TU is getting wise to our(my) tricks. Last week I was denied a free report, but could pay $8 for the TU report & score or $12.95 for the report and FICO. No option for the free report. Same result the 2nd & 3rd time I tried. I finally ordered the FICO report, because I was interested in seeing my score. A few days later I tried again and was allowed to recieve a free report.
