I have had some recent successes with TU in getting inquiries removed along with a few 30 day lates. Today I just got a letter referencing credit repair organizations and asking for name address of any company that I am working with from TU. I have a few more disputes to send, should I reply to this letter, be indignant and all that or just ignore it? I also noticed that I seem to have a new file number with them, does anyone know the significance of this?
"PLEASE PROVIDE THE PROOF THAT YOU HAVE RELATING TO YOUR ACCUSATIONS THAT I AM USING A CREDIT REPAIR SERVICE...IF YOU HAVE NONE, THIS WILL BE USED IN MY SLANDER SUIT AGAINST YOUR COMPANY IN THE NEAR FUTURE"
I think there is a letter about being accused of useing a CRO in the sample letter section. Congrats on the deletions. Candi
Could it be they don't want peoples reports to be correct? The significance : They don't like anybody or anything interfering with their little shell game.
Great reply. Wished I would have thought of it when TU sent me the same letter. I ended up modifying the letter in the sample letters section and sent that a few months back.
I have received this letter twice from Trans Union during the past year, and I ignored the letter both times. In each case, the disputes proceeded normally and were successful in one case. In other words, Trans Union sometimes sends the credit repair letter but they aren't expecting a response. Keep in mind that their letter doesn't say flat-out that you are using a credit repair firm because they don't know that; rather, it politely asks you to send them information if in fact you are using such a firm. If you aren't, they aren't expecting a reply. Sending a self-righteous and indignant response will not help you and may even coerce one of their similarly self-righteous and indignant employees to flag your account as "frivolous" (language pursuant to the FCRA). We can dream up and enjoy any number of nasty responses here on the board all we like, but that's really an exercise in futility. It's best for you that you not respond to that peripheral letter. Finally, I agree that Trans Union is fishing in "none of your damned business" waters anyway. Doc
"none of your damned business" is better than???...
The CRA'S "think" we are using a CREDIT REPAIR COMPANY...because we wouldn't think of ever fixing the mistakes on our credit report with-out help!!!
I'm dopey. I got one of those letters from TU and I figured they'd sent it just becuase I wrote a good, polished letter! LOL... then I read LKH's post about a letter being sent on her behalf by a credit repair service and then I was humbled 'cuz my gosh, that was an awful letter they sent! Yeah, I ought to know better than to think a CRA would hand out a compliment, even in the form of an acusatory letter!!! <g> Ozzy (dumb and humbled).
I know I will probably get a letter soon. As a matter fact, I think they have labeled a credit repairer. They try to discourage you by faking verification. Then if you insist they label you a credit repairer. They want you to think that they never lie, are always correct, and act in your best interest. They want you to feel as though you have sinned when you challenge them. They are crooks, liars, scam artist, and thieves. My religion teaches me that the devil is the author and father of all lies. I don't think my preacher has dealt the CA's and CRA's. He might change is mind (LOL).
