I called TU on a pending dispute. While on the line she asks if there's anything else she can do for me. I say yes, please remove these inquiries that don't look familiar to me...#1. #2, #3, #4, and #5. She pauses for about 10-15 seconds and comes back to me with: "OK, all done!" She removed all my hards! AWESOME!
Well I am glad that somebody is getting them to do it! Nine months, 20 disputes, probably 10 angry letters, 3 emails to top brass, threatening a lawsuit at least twice, 1 inquiry fell off because it had been 2 years. So, I have had ZERO luck getting any of mine removed from TU. Way to go!
One more thing... Does anyone here think that TU is changing its attitude about inquiry removal/dispute? I sure have seen a lot of these types of posts lately. Just wondered what everyone thought.
All I know is that the person who answers the phone at each CRA has tremendous discretion. There are magical, powerful, nice agents who can achieve results in the blink of an eye. And uncooperative, surly agents who either don't care or (worse!!) enjoy subverting us. Spin the wheel, who will you get?
You hit the nail on the head on that one! It 100% depends on who gets the cue on your call. You got lucky--good for you!
I just tried it with a TU CSR named Janice...she won't budge on the inq dispute...she was friendly though.
Ted, so do you think he got the inquiries deleted on a once in a lifetime deal? Have you ever had any luck getting any deleted from TU in any way?
I believe that it happened for UHACKTHIS, but I personally haven't been able to do it through the "normal" dispute process... I did manage to get them (Inq's before April 02) removed through another, more extreme "means"....
Ted, okay, fess up. What "extreme" means did you use, because I have written letters so scathing that I was sure they would work. They didn't.
Curious though: I pulled my TU report online today and sure enough, ALL my inquiries from the last 2 years are gone. BUT, my score did not move!?!?! What's up with that? Does their scoring system take awhile to update? No matter: Lisa...If you want to give it a shot, try the "play dumb" method. When calling in next time...Say "By the way, I noticed some information on my report that I don't recognize...this inquiry....... Sure, maybe it was pure luck. BUT the lady I spoke with put up no fuss at all.
