TU disputes?

I have a question that I am hoping some of the more experienced "credit-netters" can help me with.

I have disputed late payments on a student loan, based upon the fact that it was in deferral, as well as a collection account from Bally's. Shouldn't the fact that these items are being disputed be notated on my report?

On my Eq as well as my Exp, they are listed "in dispute", but not on TU....any ideas/comments?

    Thanks!

TU's online report system is flawed like the rest of their company and never displays whether an account is disputed or not.

    Hey kingfish!

I am in almost exactly the same boat as you. Deferred loans being reported on TU as late. They recieved my first letter June 25, then claimed they recieved "additional information" (untrue) on July 5th. So now they claim they have until Aug 8th. What a crock.

I haven't been doing this long, but it seems to me that TU often tramples on consumer rights and can really rack up these kinds of violations. I've read in other posts that they never put a dispute notation on the report, which is in direct violation of the FCRA. I don't understand how they get away with that.

I would just make sure that you document every violation, and let TU know you have done so when you call.

    Good luck!
